Beyonce checked into Lenox Hill Hospital on NYC’s upper east side late Friday night (they supposedly rented the entire hospital floor for $1.3 Million!) and at 2AM this Sunday morning January 8, she has officially given birth to her and Jay-Z‘s daughter Blue Ivy Carter. Checked into the hospital under the name Ingrid Jackson, the couple went through large measures to ensure that the labor was a private affair. They covered up security cameras with tape, took away employees cell phones when entering the floor, and had security guards checking the perimeter. The color blue is Jay-Z’s favorite and the roman numeral supposedly has a special meaning to Beyonce, hence the name Ivy. The hip-hop royal has already gotten twitter love from Auntie Rihanna, Uncle Russel Simmons, and one social media savvy vixen who has already jumped the gun on taking over the Blue Ivy Carter twitter handle, feeding us funny quips and clever RT’s. Judging by the time at which we are posting this and the list of twitter topics at the moment (Aunty Gaga, Uncle Kanye, Godmother Nicki to name a few) we are sure to see a LOT of the new baby Blue Ivy. Congrats!

Russell Brand Divorces Katy Perry

And boom goes the dynamite. Perky pop couple Katy Perry and Russell Brand are getting divorced. He filed early today under irreconcilable differences with the statement “Sadly, Katy and I are ending our marriage. I’ll always adore her and I know we’ll remain friends”. What went wrong?

Differences were noticed earlier this month when a “massive fight” happened allegedly based on Brand’s feelings on Perry’s parents and their beliefs. The two were apart for the holidays with Brand in London and Perry in Hawaii with friends. With a marriage that has lasted since October 2010, this is a record for Hollywood couples of late. We feel bad for the two of them and hopefully things will work out smoothly with their non-prenup ridden separation.

Superstar singer Adele has dominated magazine covers this year (Cosmopolitan, British Vogue, and The Gentlewoman) and now the rumor mills are stirring that she’ll soon take the magazine cover cake — American VOGUE! What started this gossip? Find out after the jump.

Several designers have been requested to create special outfits for cover consideration in size 14 and 16 — Adele’s size — for the March 2012 Vogue issue. The magazine declined to comment on the speculation, which is sure to be a bit embarrassing if it turns out that Ms. Wintour isn’t actually considering the songstress and just wanted extra material for draping.

Kris Humphries Is Not Suing Kim Kardashian For $10 Million After All

In their typical form of tricking me to buy into their every move, the Kardashian-Humphries have done it again. The combination of tabloid headline “Kris Sues Kim For $10Million” and a crowded airport, I spent my 2 hour flight gushing over how Kris Humprhies is going to take Kim Kardashian down for… 1/6 of what she’s worth. Well, our ever-accurate sources at TMZ now tell us that it is not true. More after the jump.

Kris Humphries reportedly was going to sue his estranged with Kim Kardashian over his negative portrayal in the upcoming episodes of “Kourtney & Kim Take New York” and because he plays a bigger role than originally planned (therefore feeling entitled to more moolah because of it). We can forget about this being true. Sources close to Kris tell TMZ he still loves her, that their relationship right now is “cordial”, and that he understands he has no control of how the show portrays him, negative or not.

Since the show premieres tomorrow, we could conspire how the timing of this dramatic announcement is another well-plotted ploy of team evil genius aka the Kardashian marketing team, but we’re not going to go there…yet.

Started with her mother, the foundation aims to inspire & encourage bravery, love, and acceptance in those young and old, set to launch in 2012. We love hearing that her superstardom is being put to good use!

Gaga says about the project: “My mother and I have initiated a passion project. We call it the Born This Way Foundation. Together we hope to establish a standard of Bravery and Kindness, as well as a community worldwide that protects and nurtures others in the face of bullying and abandonment.”

The rumor mills are flying that Kim Kardashian’s wedding is one giant scam, but we can’t help but feel bad for the girl.

The implicating Facts: Sure there’s the fact that the divorce announcement came at the exact same time that the filming for the next season of Kim & Kourtney Take New York wrapped (insert dramatic season finale). And the fact that the announcement came the day before mogul mother Kris Jenner launched her new book Kris Jenner…and All Things Kardashian (insert Bestseller List ranking). And the fact that the first thing “devastated” Kris Humphries did was run to a media outlet and make a statement (that’s what we all do when we are heartbroken right?). And the facts that she never changed her name, never planned on giving him a dime, and that their made for TV wedding was all about the benjamins, all $18million of them.

Blinded by her “love”? Other than those implicating details, a tiny part of our hearts still hopes that she isn’t trying to just scam America. She thought she was marrying an loving NBA star who fit into the unique puzzle that is their paparazzi-filled, brand-building life, but in reality she married an unemployed 26 year old athlete that who wanted her to move to Minnesota. And if the rumors are true that he hired his own publicist, held secret meetings behind his wife’s back, started pocketing appearance fees and hosting nightclub parties, and tried to control her life, I’d probably have divorced him after 72 days too.

Did she jinx herself? Thank goodness she protected herself with a prenup and didn’t bother changing her last name, then again, could those moves been what jinxed her short lived fairytale marriage? Let us know your thoughts as we rot our brains with more mindless Kardashian drama.

Out Of This World: Kanye West & Jay-Z “Watch The Throne” Planetarium Listening Party

Get your catcher’s mitt out, because we are about to drop a lot of names: Jay-Z. Kanye West. Beyonce. Solange. Kelly Rowland. Lyor Cohen. Tory Burch. Vanessa Simmons. Angela Simmons. Forest Whitaker. Q Tip. Busta Rhymes. AJ Calloway. John Legend. Jada Pinkett-Smith. The list goes on. All these A-Listers gathered last night in NYC with about 80 other guests (including yours truly for FashionIndie) at the Hayden Planetarium in the Museum of Natural History for an uber-private listening and outer space star show of the duo’s hotly anticipated Watch the Throne album.

Jay-Z told us that it has taken them 9 months and 3 incarnations to get to the point the album is now, and he referenced how he and Kanye West really “pushed each other” to get it to this level. A slight reference to the rumored physical altercation they supposedly got into earlier that day? Maybe. Rumors that we are possibly insinuating? Definitely. As for the music? Lots of soulful sampling, heavy, heavy bass, and their standard references to taking over the world, shooting above the stars, and having way more money than all of us (Memorable note: “Black card, black tie, black opulence.”). They even dabble in dubstep towards the end, which was well received by the models and club kids in attendance. The album is set to drop in the early Fall, but tickets are already on pre-sale (presale code WTT) for their tour dates, so we suggest you get on that now if you want to witness one of the greatest hip hop duos of our generation.

Fashion Celebrity Boom-Is it Going Away

Photographer John Fisher shares his Rant on the Celebrity Boom in Fashion

What follows is an opinion in the form of a rant, a very emotional rant. As Deep Throat said during Watergate, “follow the money!”

Celebrities (and they are not celebrities, they are actresses, plain and simple) are the crack cocaine of the magazine business, and withdrawal will be painful. Let’s understand what has happened, and I repeat these are not “celebrity” covers. In the day, the fashion models WERE the celebrities, and Hollywood hated this. They were spending millions to make movies, and more people (a lot more people) could name a famous model (Cindy, Linda, Naomi, Christy, Tatyana, Claudia, et al. ……….) than could name a movie actress. How to solve this problem? Go to the big fashion magazines (one in particular) and buy the cover. The cover of the big (for the most part, American) fashion magazines are now an advertising page, sold for big money to pimp a movie. Check this out, when you see an actress (so called celebrity) on the cover, look to see what movie is opening that month, and who is the lead actress.

If these were “celebrity covers”, driven by an intense interest in “celebrity culture”, then they would be random celebrities. But they never are (or Angelina would be on every cover!), it is always a movie actress opening a movie that month. Is this just a coincidence? Oh sure, movies cost millions to make, and more is spent on the advertising then is spent to make the movie. So it’s just a “coincidence” that Reece Witherspoon (a celebrity that everyone is just so interested in!, Like, didn’t her name come up in a conversation just this morning?) is on the cover of Vogue the same month that “Water for Elephants” is opening? For God’s sake, I picked up a “fashion” magazine several months ago and Tina Fey was on the cover. Surprise surprise, Tina was opening a movie that month (I didn’t even know she did movies).

These covers are no longer editorial content, they are paid advertising posters for the movie industry, and have nothing to do with fashion. Watch “September Issue”, the documentary about making the September issue of American Vogue. Five months out they already know who is going to be on the cover. Best picture? Best editorial? No, some uncooperative actress who refuses to even fix her hair and doesn’t fit the dress. But when the movie company pulls the money strings, the magazine jumps. Disgusting. The amount of (obvious) retouching that had to be done to get a cover shot that was even remotely acceptable was simply mind boggling (and remember, this the September Issue, the most important issue and cover of the year).

I could go on and on about how this is affecting fashion and it’s place in our popular culture, why this is a disaster pure and simple. But it is the crack cocaine of the industry, once the magazines got hooked on the revenue stream, it may be impossible to move away. Someone is leaving (and soon won’t be soon enough), when this happens it’s possible that the painful withdrawal will begin, and fashion in America will reclaim it’s covers, and it’s rightful place in our culture.

Many of us (me) have come to love Charlie Sheen much more in recent weeks. From Charlie’s blatant honesty about drugs and hookers in interviews, to his Twitter explosion and porno girlfriends – the guy doesn’t give a damn what people think. Here are 10 more things you need to know about the man.

1. Charlie’s real name is Carlos Irwin Estevez. His father adopted the name “Sheen” in honor of Catholic archbishop and theologian Fulton J. Sheen.

2. He accidently shot his fiance Kelly Preston in the arm in 1990.

3. Sheen’s dad was an actor. So were both his brothers and his sister. (You may’ve heard of that Emilio Estevez guy.)

4. He grew up friends with Sean Penn.

5. He was expelled from school for poor grades and attendance only weeks before high school graduation.

6. Sheen once had as many as 12 tattoos. Though some have been removed. (Such as the “Denise” tattoo after Denise Richards divorced him.)

7. He supports the 9/11 Truth Movement, believing the government did not portray a clear account of the September 11 attacks.

8. Sheen was spokesperson for a breast cancer fundraiser called Lee National Denim Day, which raised millions of dollars for research.

9. He was the highest paid TV actor of 2010, earning $1.8 million per episode from Two and a Half Men.

10. He’s dated three different pornographic actresses: Ginger Lynn, Heather Hunter and Bree Olsen.

Charlie Sheen should carry a pick ax – ’cause he’s a goldmine of a verbally abusive hilarity. In recent Sheen news, the volatile actor trashed John Stamos for potentially taking over his TV baby, Two and a Half Men. Now Sheen is offering Stamos an apology (plus another awkward come-on).

“I was out of line and you are a beautiful man, and a talented man and if you get the gig…we should talk,” said Sheen in an interview.

Man, I hope Stamos befriends Sheen.

With a-hole undertones and a taste for loose women, both are very much alike. I could see the two meeting up for a night of binge drinking, followed by a game of “Toss Petroleum-Jelly-Dunked Quarters at the Stripper.” What!! Did we just become best friends!?

Miranda Kerr and Orlando Bloom welcomed their first child into the world late last week. The Victoria’s Secret model and Lord of the Rings star are beaming about their new baby boy!

Baby Bloom was born at an L.A. Hopsital where Miranda’s family joined in welcoming him as the newest member of the family. Healthy and carrying the genes of two insanely sexy individuals, this little boy was born a star.

Zsa Zsa Gabor Forced to Amputate Leg to Live

Celebrity Women Are Wearing The Pants These Days

Seems like every celeb is getting her Hillary Clinton on and wearing pantsuits lately.

Leighton looks pretty cute with the taper trousers and slightly undone tie, but Winona went a little masculine for a look that was totally asexual and Halle’s suit was a little too…tragic. As for Kate Winslet, let’s just say the picture with her arm around Michelle Williams feels very right. Ellen Barkin went for a classically tailored suit paired with a deep blue top that was flattering, if not too flashy, and Ms. Jolie rounds out the group of suited ladies in a tame black velvet pantsuit and sequined top. All in all, we think that women’s power suits are a tricky thing to pull off, but with the right fit and a little sex appeal, ladies, you can work it.

The Best Fitting Pair Of Black Jeans Are From Madewell And 40% Off

I had a minor fashion freakout recently when I realized J.Crew stopped making my favorite black skinny ankle jeans. I had bought them on a whim, but it turned out the $98 I paid was the best investment ever–I wore them all through winter with boots and into the summer again, and they always look make me look skinny, even on fat days.

Madewell, J.Crew’s little sister, is to the rescue: there’s a nearly identical pair available now, the Skinny Ankle jeans (above) for $59, down from $95. Score. I bought these up right away, and so should you. Maybe even two, just in case.

FOX’s “The Cleveland Show” will be welcoming a special celebrity guest on the show early next year. A rep confirmed to MTV that singer Justin Timberlake will be voicing two characters on the show. The first character will be Paul, the boyfriend of Terry while the other character Timberlake will voice is a singing booger. MTV reports that the episode featuring Timberlake will air some time in February 2011. “Terry falls in love with a guy voiced by Justin,” Rich Appel, “The Cleveland Show” creator, explained to Us Weekly. “Justin is just hysterical!”
