RUNWAY: Limi Feu Spring 2010

RUNWAY: Limi Feu Spring 2010 all indieRUNWAY: Limi Feu Spring 2010 all indieIf Limi Feu’s Spring 2010 doesn’t have Japanese style written all over it, I don’t know what does. Daughter of designer Yohji Yamamoto, Limi Yamamoto certainly followed in her father’s footsteps this season with a collection that was more androgynous than a kid on Christopher Street (She even used male models to heighten the sense of androgyny in the womenwear!) Yamamoto exaggerated basic menswear with elaborate lapels and sleeves, brining yet another version to the trend. But I must say, the shoes, mostly masculine oxfords and booties, stole the show.

INCASE YOU CARE: Rag & Bone NOT Selling Chainmail Garb From Their Fall 2009 Collection

INCASE YOU CARE: Rag & Bone NOT Selling Chainmail Garb From Their Fall 2009 Collection all indieINCASE YOU CARE: Rag & Bone NOT Selling Chainmail Garb From Their Fall 2009 Collection all indieFor those of you who paid close attention to the Rag & Bone Fall 2009 collection, you probably noticed two covetable pieces: the women’s chainmail shirt and the men’s chainmail scarf (both pictured above). Before you go running over to the Christopher Street store in hopes of snagging these amazing pieces, I did the dirty work for you and was informed that these pieces are not for sale. Stopping by for a quick price-check, I learned Marcus Wainwright and David Neville used the chainmail for styling purposes only and aren’t producing either the shirt or the scarf. Devastation.

The funny part is, I wasn’t the first person who stopped by the store inquiring about the chainmail. Hmm, maybe this is an indication that these pieces SHOULD be reproduced and sold! Next season? Please.
