SPREAD UM: Claire Danes Glams up for Blackbook magazines

Claire Danes looks ultra sexy and provocative in the latest issue of Blackbook.

What do Claire Danes, Ashton Kutcher and Audrey Hepburn Have in Common?

They’ve all stared in some pretty horrendous GAP ads. We’ve collected thirty of our favorite ads and placed them on Don’tAdvertiserHere.com for your viewing pleasure. Whether it’s the limited release Spike Jonze directed ad in which the GAP gets trashed or the somber Mellow Yellow ads or the pre-Pirates Orlando Bloom spot, they’re all on. While watching you’ll quickly realized why you hated the GAP and come to terms with American Apparel’s rise to pornographic fame.

Here’s are four of our least favorites…

Ashton, Zooey, Jay and Scarlett love bike riding for the GAP.

A never aired ad featuring a dancing Laura Prepon

Carrie Bradshaw and Merlin Bronques for the GAP?

QUITE POSSIBLY THE WORST AD EVER!!!! I hate vests because of this…

Claire Danes looks stunning as the face of Gucci Jewelry. The ads are whimsical with light but effective touches of mystery and sultriness. Danes makes the jewelry look delicate and effortless, like she lives in it every day without fussing with much else. Ads for fine jewelry usually don’t phase me, but this set makes me long to put a few of those fab rings on my Christmas list.

Before They Had Stylists: Claire Danes

I have always loved Claire Danes from the start. From a grunge-loving teen in My So-Called Life to a love-distressed damsel in Romeo and Juliet, she always completely submerges herself in her roles for a fantastic job well done. But her style has not always been so fabulous. The short, dirty-blonde hair, weird prints and shiny leather jackets was not working out. A stylist out there deserves a huge pat on the back because she is looking fantastic these days. She really has turned into a style star!

TrendSpark: Grunge Then and Now

Nirvana I’ve noticed recently that lots of people are looking back to 1994 for style inspiration. Some may say that girls like Cory Kennedy and MK Olsen look homeless but the combat boots, the plaid, and the floral dresses all scream GRUNGE! The difference between grunge style of today is it’s high fashion. Look at Alexander Wang’s collection (see below), torn tights with a $1,000 dress-now that’s Nu-Grunge Chic! So put on your acoustic Nirvania CD and let’s go on a tour of Grunge then and now.

Museum of Modern Art’s 40th Party in the Garden

Museum of Modern Art’s 40th Party in the Garden last night brought out the good, the bad, and the just plain ugly.

The Always Good

(Not going to mention anything bad about DVF’s Louboutin’s)

Museum of Modern Arts 40th Party in the Garden all indie

The Bad

(Too plain, boring, and doesn’t fit, just like Claire)

Museum of Modern Arts 40th Party in the Garden all indie

And the Just Plain Ugly

(nothing against MIA, the outfit is awful)
