SPREAD UM: Supermodels Supernaturals by Peter Lindberg for Harpers Bazaar September 09 fashion

The super model loving lives on, but airbrushing dies? Hmm… I’ll see that when I believe it. Harpers claims that there is no makeup or airbrushing used in this editorial, and I’m not sure about that either. Regardless the models, in their 30’s and 40’s look amazing. Another plus is the sharing of supermodel approved beauty tips, such as not to eat dairy because it can lead to break outs from Claudia Schiffer.

SPREAD UM: V Magazine Swimsuit Issue

V Magazine’s swimsuit issue is really the only thing I care about this week. Beautiful models, it tiny little swimwear equals more than enough joy for all of us. “We chose the sexiest bodies in the world and those that had a special connection to the Testino world; a lot of the guys and girls photographed grew up with V readers over the years.” Check out who made the cut below.

SPREAD UM: Claudia Schiffer for Vogue UK, April 2009 fashion

The rest of Claudia Schiffer’s shoot for the April 2009 issue of Vogue UK has been released.

Wearing Versace on the (kind of boring) cover, Claudia has a more interesting spread inside, with an Hermes poncho, black Louis Vuitton dress, and of course the Balmain military vest.

Shot by Patrick Demarchelier for the April 2009 issue of Vogue UK, Claudia Schiffer is still going strong at 38.

The cover isn’t that interesting (April = Spring = pink!), but this shot is hot. Schiffer is wearing a Lowew pilot cap and ripped Balmain jeans.

You Too Can Eat Chips Out of a Boob Shaped Bowl

You Too Can Eat Chips Out of a Boob Shaped Bowl fashionMen are a pretty complicated species, but when it comes to gift giving, I think Karl Lagerfeld may have designed the item every man would jump around like a nancy little school girl to have. This bowl, crafted for Dom Pérignon Champagne, was inspired by the breast of german supermodel Claudia Schiffer. Apparently, this bowl was inspired by a similar, true to size “boob bowl” created for Queen Marie Antoinette in 1787. The boob sits atop Dom champagne bottles and have Schiffer’s signature on them. I dare you to find one guy who wouldn’t want his buddies munching on Doritos from this bowl come Super Bowl Sunday. All you have to do is muster up $3,150, and this porcelain bosom is all yours.

Thanks NY Mag!

When Guess Was Cool

Yes there was time when Guess! was cool. It was more than 15 years ago, but there was indeed a time where it was considered cool to wear Guess jeans. This is when they actually put top models in their campaigns not girls like Paris Hilton.

Claudia Schiffer: New Face of Dolce and Gabbana

Claudia Schiffer: New Face of Dolce and Gabbana fashion

Karl Lagerfeld may be upset to see Claudia Schiffer branded in someone else’s clothing. Claudia will be the new face of Dolce and Gabbana in their up incoming ad campaign. She has signed on to take part in the resort collection. Word has it we should see Claudia in full Dolce and Gabbana attire this coming December. It should be an interesting campaign.

Thanks to fashionista for the pic!

Although celebrities have hijacked hordes of fashion ads in recent years, Nineties-era supermodels — displaying formidable powers of longevity — have returned with a vengeance in many of fall’s fashion campaigns. Even Marc Jacobs is going back to using models for his Fall campaign.

That Linda Evangelista is starring in Prada, Naomi Campbell in Yves Saint Laurent, Claudia Schiffer in Chanel and Salvatore Ferragamo, Eva Herzigova in Louis Vuitton and Christy Turlington in Escada suggests these industry thoroughbreds remain as bankable and fascinating as Hollywood’s best beauties.

In fact, models in general — from newbies to veterans — dominate the lion’s share of European designer campaigns for next season, from Daria Werbowy in Christian Dior and Raquel Zimmerman in Fendi to Angela Lindvall in Jimmy Choo and Kate Moss in Stella McCartney. Notable exceptions to the celebrity-free ad zone include Charlotte Gainsbourg for Balenciaga and Vanessa Paradis for Miu Miu — while many American brands also are sticking to the celeb road, such as Calvin Klein’s multiple use of Eva Mendes.

Donatella Versace credits her late brother Gianni for fueling the supermodel phenomenon by sending all the top girls down the runway together in 1991.

“He made the models into celebrities as he understood that the more famous they became, the better it would be for him,” she said. “I don’t really make a distinction between working with celebrities and working with models as I think girls like Christy Turlington and, more recently, Kate Moss and Gisele [Bündchen] are celebrities, just as well-known as many actors and musicians.”

Spread’Um: Claudia Schifer in German Vogue

SpreadUm: Claudia Schifer in German Vogue fashion

Note to Claudia: Mouse-hide coats are not sexy, they are terrifying and little bit creepy. You’re like the sexy version of the scary cat lady who lives in our building who honestly feels her “friends” are bringing her “presents” when they leave half eaten rat carcasses on her bed.
