Each Fashion Week, model agencies compile their top boys and girls into a nifty little package to send out to casting directors, who then decide which kids make it down which runway. To celebrate the start of New York Fashion Week, Male Model Humpday brings you the best — read: the most shirtless — the Big Apple has to offer in the way of living man-hangers for the fall 2012 season.

Whereas the girls may earn the big bucks, these ten male models continue to work relatively hard for the money. Their faces and bodies have been everywhere and on everything/one this year, now here they are in handy enumerated order based on a complex mathematical permutation taking into account a host of factors. Either that or I just guessed. Whichever floats your boat. Happy Humpday!

I’ve always had a soft spot in my heart for seamen. During Fleet Week, I’m basically a kid in a highly inappropriate candy store. That fondness has just been increased exponentially by the breathtakingly beautiful Clément Chabernaud going on “Shore Leave,” photographed by Glen Luchford and styled by Anastasia Barbieri for Vogue Hommes International. The shoot was apparently based on Rainier Werner Fassbinder‘s Querelle, which I have just put on hold at the library based solely on this editorial.

Beauty without compromise, impeccable accessorizing, a poolside tan – it’s the Italian way. Rather though, Salvatore Ferragamo Creative Director Massimiliano Giornetti is paying homage to La Piscine, the classic 1968 French film in the Spring 2011 collection. Mikael Jansson shot Daria Werbowy and Clement Chabernaud on the hard partying Euro vaca locale Ibiza, but here they emanate the opulent sophistication of the Ferragamo jet setting couple. Clement Chabernaud gets tough in Fall’s down and dirty militaristic fashions for GQ Style Russia. Lensed by David Roemer, the usually epicene Mon. Chabernaud looks rugged and just a bit menacing in camoflauge, a bit of shearling, wool tops and shorts, a great pair of fingerless leather gloves…and Mickey Mouse.
Rather than coming off costumey or fetishistic, the military theme is explored in a really fun, fashionable and easily imitable way. Just go to any Army and Navy store, get a pair of combat boots and a camo jacket then slab on some eyeliner and you’re ready for an editorial.

The divine Clement Chabernaud and ethereal Mariacarla Boscono are haunting and beautiful in Paolo Roversi’s shoot for W. My fears over W ‘s direction following Stefano Tonchi’s assent to the editorship are beginning to be assuaged. I mean, all I need is a gorgeous priest and I’m happy.
