After an enlightening hike up Peru’s Machu Picchu, Lindsey Thornburg shrouded her focus in cloaks. Like John Bartlett, she put her vast collection of Pendleton blankets to work to manifest her vision. With these enveloping cloaks riding atop fiery printed silks and heavy breezing dresses, she’s brought her Colorado roots to light in New York. Having studied philosophy in Santa Barbara, her vibes are strong and majorly thought provoking. Spring sprung at me from the online boutique Totokaelo, and we dug a little deeper. Blame Harry Potter mania for this trend. Ok, capes and caplets aren’t so bad, but anyone who seriously tries to push cloaks as a trend is is a little too wizard obsessed for me. On the runway?Cool, gothic and mysterious. In real life? Ridiculous.
