On the heels of Rihanna disgracing the cover of Vogue and Justin Bieber bringing his fever to Vanity Fair, Katy Perry is the latest popstar to cheapen the CN brand, tarting it up on the cover of June’s Vanity Fair as shot by Annie Leibovitz. Meanwhile, Liz Taylor’s Final Days are relegated to a banner. Give me “Diamonds, sharks, gay bars and the most bizarre road trip ever” over an alleged singer any day of the week. [Vanity Fair]

The Academy Awards are over and with it, awards season, leaving a trophy-sized hole in all our hearts. The fashion was a hit, the show was a miss but god bless Anne Hathaway for trying and James Franco for showing up.

Jon Kortajarena possesses the type of beauty that comes along but once in a queer moon. Brooding, quirky, quixotic but distinctively male. With that heavy brow, those angular cheekbones, that pompadour puff of hair, those pouty lips and lithe frame iit’s no wonder Tom Ford cast him as the intriguing drifter that entrances Colin Firth in A Single Man; or that he later cast him as the impeccable face of his eponymous menswear and eyewear lines. And it’s no wonder that he has been my favorite male model for the past two years (with an occasional dalliance with Simon Nessman). Beauty, thy first name is Jon and thy last name is, well… unpronounceable. Hint: (Kor-ta-ha-ray-na)

The nominees for the 83rd Annual Academy Awards were announced this morning and SHOCKINGLY Edge of Darkness was left out of every single category. Mel Gibson is plotzing right now.

Last night’s Golden Globes ceremony was a master class in awards show etiquette, or rather, the lack-thereof. Between the magnums of champagne on each table, host Ricky Gervais‘ ever-present glass of beer and the air of forced pleasantries, the Beverly Hilton was teetering on the verge of a knock-down drag out brawl all night. Somehow everything managed to go off without a hitch, and along the way some wisdom was imparted.

I really had no idea that celebrities got paid to sit front row at Fashion Week! You’d think that it was more pleasure then business for them, but I guess I was way wrong, getting photographed at the tents IS just as publicity worthy as a club opening! Tom Ford was on Good Morning America talking about his new movie. He tells the world that Colin Firth was fat. We love him slightly more.

Tom Ford attempts to direct with a new film about a man who’s coming to terms with his partners death. No one speaks through the preview, so I’m guessing it’s supossed to be artsy, or possibly for deaf fashionistas.
