Jason Wu Debuts Colette Doll

First Vogue Italia dedicates its August issue to Barbie, now Jason Wu is debuting his doll for Colette. Available at the French mecca of style for $300 Wu took inspiration from his own collection for the glamourous get up his doll sports. Looks like August is the month of the doll.

RUNWAY RUNDOWN: Andrea Crews, Fall 2009

Andrea Crews are one of the few designers that can successfully merge artistic expression with wearable fashion. Hosting massive DIY style events to harvest materials for their collections, the group has created these pieces for their Fall 2009 collection titled Sister of Mercy.

It’s amazing that they are able to create items that are so on trend —drop-crotch, slashed pants, statement necklaces, sweatshirt material— and still remain artists

Marc Jacobs Teams Up With KAWS

Marc Jacobs has teamed up with legendary street artist KAWS to make 150 pairs of super exclusive flats. They will be available in limited places worldwide. The stores that will have them are Collette in Paris, Original Fake in Tokyo, and Marc Jacobs flagship stores in NYC and London. Don’t know how I feel about these. The design is cool, but black and pink? I’m so over it. The shoes are avaiable September 29th (Monday) so get their early because these are going to be a hot ticket.

Playboy has just released this limited edition collection of tees designed by indie favorites like Daft Punk, Duran Duran, Hot Chip, and New Young Pony Club.

The shirts are worth their weight in cred points and are definitely worth checking out cause proceeds from the shirts benefit Rock the Vote.

Last Nights Party: Purple Anthology Launch

The Purple Hounds were out in full force on Tuesday as la creme de la fashion creme hit Colette in Paris to celebrate the launch of Purple magazine’s first “Purple Anthology”.

Collette’s Sarah Lerfel revealed her fondest memory of Purple,  “I actually once did an internship at Purple, but it was more about art then,”

The night was filled with the usually edgies, including Victoire de Castellane, APC’s Jean Touitou, a tattooed Omahyra Mota, and Irina Lazareanu, who turned up in a pair of stapled Viktor & Rolf slacks.

Irina has an album due to hit our shores in Septemeber, she collaborated with Pete Doherty (remember she was in Pete’s video for I’ll Kill Him in which she kills him. Classic. It’s down below.) on a few songs and the record was produced by Patti Smith.

“All we need to do is get Sean [Lennon] and Patti in the same town and make sure Pete’s not in prison and we can get rolling.”

The big news of the night was an announcement by Purple editor Olivier Zahn who told WWD that his next major project is the Chanel Mobile Art magazine, when it hits NYC. He’s also expanding the Purple empire with an office in our Empire city. That’s right folks, Purple’s coming to NY. Expect wild parties with the likes of folks you openly hate, but secretly love.
