Although there was a wintry mix falling over the five New York boroughs this morning, yesterday was the official start of spring. Last week, our cell phones changed automatically, leaving us with one less hour of sleep but the joy of lingering daylight. I took the time to wind my watch ahead as well, a task that, for many young folks, is a lost art. But time pieces are back and better than ever, so why not spring ahead this season with a little wrist candy? The most playful piece on the Chloé runway yesterday is a building block of colors transformed into a blanket cape. Wrap it, twist it, throw it, sleep it, it will bend to your will. Through a sea of snakeskin, the fleecy quality of the rich hues makes a giddy statement. Hannah MacGibbon has mastered the cape; it seems to be a Chloé signature. This one might just be their best yet.
