The current collection from Oliver Spencer caught my eye this morning, and I think it definitely has some pieces worth mentioning. The jackets and blazers are really well done, and they should give all the people who didn’t get their Comme des Garcons for H&M trench hope for a better day.

Because Men Do It Better!

Along with every other eager fashion crazed New Yorker, I found myself standing outside H&M this morning to battle my way through the doors for some sweet Comme des Garcons collaboration love. However, the sight was not what I had anticipated at all. My mentality all week had been that I had a better shot of getting the clothes than our female employees based on the fact that I am a guy, and less guys would be willing to wait in line for a something of this variety. My mentality couldn’t have been further from the truth!

When I walked up to H&M I couldn’t help but notice how badly the guys out numbered the girls. Granted that probably 20% of the guys were there to buy clothes for their girlfriends, but still it was impressive. Then to top it off, the guys clothes was gone so fast I had time to walk over to the girls section and watch the feeding frenzy ensue.

I thought that maybe this was just at my location (34th and 7th ave.), but when I rendezvoused with Daniel after his trip to the Herald Sq. store he had a similar story.

Could this be a changing of the times? Are the new fashion craving folks men? As a male in the fashion industry, I really hope that this is true. I feel that men need to play a bigger roll in fashion, and the fashion market!

Women and men display equal amounts of fervor at H&Ms Comme des Garcons launch. Late comers are picking over remaining scraps. Accessories were gone in mere moments. Least favorite item seems to be basics and a opened back black velvet and canvas dress for $129.90.
