RUNWAY: Barbara I Gongini Fall 2010 Womenswear

RUNWAY: Barbara I Gongini Fall 2010 Womenswear RUNWAY: Barbara I Gongini Fall 2010 Womenswear RUNWAY: Barbara I Gongini Fall 2010 Womenswear Straight out of Copenhagen Fashion Week, Danish designer Barbara I Gongini sent her dark, deconstructed Fall 2010 collection down the runway, tantalizing those with a taste for Damir Doma and old-school Comme des Garcons. The collection has an elegant homeless vibe to it, showcasing a plethora of baggy, draped pieces with rips, tears and random tied, knotted and braided pieces. The collection is most certainly for the daring downtown crowd, but I have a good feeling those ribbed, spiked and furred oxfords are going to hit the mainstream running!

Show Stoppin’

Show Stoppin

As if the vibrant Christmas scene in Copenhagen, Denmark wasn’t enough, Henrik Vibskov and his astounding fashion shows are yet another reason why I want to hop a plane and make a transatlantic journey! Now, I’ll admit that most of Vibskov’s eccentric designs don’t appeal to my taste, but the way this man puts on a show is right up my alley! I stumbled upon these videos while lurking on Youtube, loving every second of the jazzy music, amazing runway setups and the sheer excitement both on the runway and in the audience. I couldn’t help but laugh at the minty green cilia or the boob-like objects creating obstacles for the models, but oh so coherent with Vibskov’s season designs. I was even thrilled to see Vibskov’s involvement in the shows (apparently he is an accomplished percussionist is playing drums in both shows!) At least this dude is proud of his work and doesn’t try to act all humble and shy (*cough* Cynthia Rowley…don’t think I didn’t see you poke your head out and then hide backstage!)

Runway: WOOD WOOD, Fall 08

Runway: WOOD WOOD, Fall 08

WeAreTheMarket.com shares their review of Wood Wood during Copenhagen Fashion Week.

Scandinavian design has been influencing us for some time in both the interiors and fashion arenas. So we finally decided to get on over to Copenhagen for the CPH and Gallerie Shows, to soak up some Nordic influence and meet some cool people and cool brands.

We caught the Danish brand Wood Wood’s fashion show earlier this evening. For it’s 7th collection, called the “big bang” collection, Wood Wood  considers serious issues such as global warming, Armageddon, and the futuristic idea of space colonization. For men, classic and casual streetwear– basic tees, classic shirts, chinos, jeans, knitwear and sweatshirts– are twisted into interesting silhouettes. Fabrics range from classic mix of dark navy corduroy, light denim chambray, check flannel, to lambswool knitwear. Womenswear reflected a tomboyish edge using menswear materials, colors, and shapes. We personally love the plaid knee length shorts! Pics after the jump.

And always known for their exciting collaborations, Wood Wood teamed up again with heritage outerwear maker Penfield with a new bordeaux-red leather jacket.
