1. Cory Kennedy- The internets biggest celebrity fell off the party circuit after her parents found out. Rumor has it she’s been shipped off to a special school where she has to stay in on school nights and can only go out with parental supervision. Phone and computer use is restricted, but Cory occasionally still updates her blog. Other than that, she’s been more or less MIA since 2007.

2. Renee Zellweger- Did a few flicks in 2006, but has been sticking to doing voices ever sense..maybe because she got so much heat for gaining/losing weight?

Lily Allen has been loving wigs lately, and Glastonbury is a good time as any to experiment. Props to Lily for stepping up her fashion game and rocking sequins in the mud a la Kate Moss circa 2005. Note the female version of one glove Michael Jackson tribute.

Model/It Girl Daisy Lowe sporting the crop top trend (belly button covered as requested – thanks) and some strange sort of cape. Lily Donaldson looks effortlessly chic as always, wearing a perfect every day outfit, I wish my hair would look this perfect after rolling around in the Glastonbury mud.

Theodora Richards and Alexandra Richards looking like chic farm girls. That’s an impressive red lip on Theodora, and I appreciate the pop of color on her red boots. Pixie Geldof, the less annoying sister, wearing some spandex biker-esque shorts and an unnecessary hat. Hmm… maybe she is annoying. 

Finally, some hipsters. Eliza Cummings wearing a surprisingly chic black dress and lace up wellies, a nice break from the standard Hunter’s. Cory Kennedy proves that she has lost whatever street urchin glam factor that she once had in stale overalls and a white t-shirt.

I’m assuming this is a bit dated, but it is still worth posting, because what’s better then seeing a faux-celebrity get put back in her place? Poor Cory Kennedy must not be in the good graces of the folks over at Elle UK because she got stamped with the “friend” tag in a picture with Peaches Geldof (check the outlined images above). Sophomore has released images of their upcoming Spring 2009 collection, and they have more or less sparked a longing for Spring/Summer in me already. The collection is exactly what I think about when I think of Spring. The photoshoot seems less of something planned out and coordinated, and more like friends just hanging out having a good time. Oh, and is that Cory Kennedy I see in there? Of course it is! Loves it! Chrissie Miller impresses me yet again. Excited to see the collection come Spring! We might be, but designers and photographers certainly aren’t sick of the “It” girls just yet. Sophomore, brainchild of Chrissy Miller, launched it’s most recent look-book for Spring/Summer 2009. Forget the stunning underground models, Miller wanted more familiar faces to wear her line. The spread, shot by photographer Cass Bird, captures Cory Kennedy, Harley Viera Newton, Alexandra Richards, and Lizzy Trullie hanging about a Manhattan swimming pool. The look-book itself is rather youthful and candid, a bit more natural than the average photo-shoot.

So Nylon recently came out with a list of things to do if you want to be an “It Girl” for their October issue dedicated to the subject. Among the options, dating a rocker, being under 20 years old, and being the spawn of a celebrity made the list according to Jezebel. We’ve got our own thoughts on what it takes to be an “It Girl” but we must warn all that accomplishing all these might just get you an STD and a trip to addiction rehab.

1. Crave a Shit Load of Attention. It’s the attention your parents never gave you cause they were too busy sniffing coke off of Fareah Fawcett’s ass during your quarterly P.T.A meetings. It’s the attention you crave when you hit the strip without a pair of coochy covers on. It’s the attention that makes you look sad enough to give up a “make me feel good” fuck to the first guy who looks your way. Believe me, guys are looking.

2. Suck Cock. Actually Suck a Shit Load of Cock. Like “Porn Star Trying To Break A Guinness World Record” Level Cock Sucking. Former geeky high school boys will pay attention to you if you do. The same boys who have no social life and a shit load of time to snap photos of people (rather than actually party with them) at clubs. The same boys who know HTML and aren’t afraid to blog it. The same boys who will upload your photos making you an “It Girl”. Doing so will guarantee Cory Kennedy fame within two face blasts. Be sure to avert your eyes.

Wax off all signs of pubescent hair and be sure to be slutty enough to get their attention but not slutty enough to seem like you know what your doing. A woman who’s actually capable of seducing someone freaks hipster photographers out and they’ll just blow their load before they snap your photo.

12. Skip The Higher Education Route. It Girls don’t need to be smart. They just need to be dumb enough to follow all these rules to a tee. Skip the community college application (did you really think NYU is an option when the web is littered with your half-coked out party images?) and just enroll in the school of hard cocks knocks.

If women want to accept a title that praises them for doing nothing more than dressing cute and getting photographed than they deserve to be shit on. If you truly believe in women’s empowerment then don’t support publications that insist on placing coked out, drunk whores on their covers, calling them “It Girls” or deeming their turds worthy of your attention. Let’s get real ladies.

I can’t say I saw this lasting too long either, but it comes as a bit of a shock that Miss. Kennedy was dropped as the face of Sebastian. Her replacement? Charlotte Ronson (not that much better). I guess it kind of makes sense to drop her, I mean she was the spokes person for a hair care company, yet she doesn’t take care of her hair. It’s okay Cory you’re young. Just because Sebastian didn’t like your head, doesn’t mean other 30+ year old men (like your ex-boyfriend) won’t pay good money for it.

The Cobrasnake is currently in Paris shooting shows, but he’s also had some time to shoot this Cory Kennedy dopplegangler. With a couple Burberry campaigns under her belt, Coco is here to leave her own mark on the fashion world. When we first saw these pictures of Cory Kennedy actually looking good, we were a bit skeptical as to whether the new Sebastian products she was supporting in the ads worked well or they just made her wear a wig. We were so curious we had to test them out. The people at Sebastian Professional were nice enough to send us some of the products from the line that Cory Kennedy sported, and we must say they do live up to their expectations. While Rebecca rocked the Whipped Créme product, I tested out the shampoo and conditioner. When we came to work the next day we were in a solid consensus that these products rocked. Rebecca was pleased with the amazing volume it gave her hair (she even used it for her wedding!), while I was pleased with how clean my abused long hair felt. I am now in no doubt that that was indeed Cory’s hair, and that these products were the receipe for her hair succuess (lets hope she’s still using them).

Raquel Zimmerman is the star of the Sept issue of Vogue French. Shot by fame photographer Ryan McGinely and obtained by Gold Digger, this spread leaves us with much to question.

First, why is she wearing crocs in a Vogue issue? NY Mag also pointed this out, and we agree…Where was Carine Roitfeld when this was shot? Cuz even Lady Wintour wouldn’t allow this..

Secondly, why does she look like Milla Jovovich in Resident Evil? With cave like backgrounds and zombie like expressions.

Lastly, Raquel is one of the most beautiful and stunning models on the runway, so why did the photographer make her look so coked out? She clearly is not the best for this type of spread. I understand that she is a model and must have some diversity, but she looks like Cory Kennedy, which is never a good thing.

You’ve got to love Cory Kennedy’s recent ad for Sebastian Professional’s newest whipped cream mousse. While flipping through ELLE, I spotted the “Internet It-Girl”.  I then immediately went online to find the photos and stumbled upon this amazingly vapid interview. Enjoy….

She’s been called a cult blogger. A style stand-out. Her uncompromising voice on everything from footware to haircare is taking the fashion world by storm.

You’re a fashion icon. How do you create a fearless look?

By wearing what makes me feel most comfortable and genuine…and that makes me feel confident.

What exactly does it mean to be the “Internet it-girl?”

I’m not quite sure about that expression—’internet it-girl’. There are lots of opinions and ideas of what that could mean. To me it’s someone who is popular through use of the internet, and who expresses themselves in a way where people pay attention.

Let’s talk hair. What’s your routine?

I don’t have a routine with my hair…it’s really just based on how ever I’m personally feeling, and depending on my moods is how I decide to style my hair. But usually I just want it to look its natural way.

What do you think about Sebastian’s new look?

I love Sebastian’s new look. It’s so fun and fresh but with an exciting feel. I think its modernity and unique way really connects to today’s culture.

Let’s hear more about your personal style. How would you describe it?

My personal style is something I’m always changing because I’m constantly changing—being influenced and inspired by traveling, music, history, people and art. It’s always pretty carefree and I’m always experimenting with new looks and trying new things. I’d rather set the trends than follow them.

Tell us about your most fearless experience.

My most fearless experience? I feel like just living in the crazy world through the ups and downs, good times and bad times and walking with your chin up is quite fearless.

“Lindsay just feels safe with her, I just feel like they have a very loyal and trustworthy relationship, which is really hard to come across in the world that Lindsay’s in. It’s a trust thing.”

It’s funny that Cory talks about “the world that Lindsay is in.” Isn’t Cory in the same world? Maybe not in the same league considering Lindsay’s made movies, but she’s just as much a talked about young useless dirty ‘celebrity.’

Funny comment (with which I completely agree) I found about Cory Kennedy’s celeb status:

“I’m sorry, but a fifteen year old all over the Los Angeles party scene doesn’t jive with me. Plus, she looks beat up seven times since sunday. The lining in her nose is probably worn out and most likely has so many holes in her brain that I am sure it would make a better strainer of information than a retainer of information.

I can’t deny her above average sense of style, which now Lindsay Lohan has ripped, after her being showcased repeatedly by the Cobra Snake. Furthermore, this Cobra Snake (a la, Mark Hunter) is really starting to get vomit worthy as he is being followed by such rehabholics like Lindsay, Paris, those Madden boys, etc. Next thing you know he is going to have photos of Britney Spears screaming nether lips on his site. He needs to take a shower and probably start brushing his teeth more. I find him and this culture to be increasingly unappealing as now everyone is a part of it and it isn’t the cool scene -it’s the mainstream. Like Williamsburg was three years ago and is beyond dead, so is the Cobra Snake.”

Any product that can make Cory Kennedy look half way doable is totally worth picking up. We featured the photos before, but now we’re all about the video.

Sebastian Whipped Creme is so our must have of the week.

Take one dirty looking strung out sort of celebrity and give her a campaign with leading hair care brand Sebastian and what happens? She turns into an almost model.

“Of course I feel pressure!” confesses Kennedy on being the new face of the iconic hair care company. “I’m always into experimenting and trying new things, but always being myself no matter what I’m doing or wearing or whatever. I think the people at Sebastian get that and like that about me.”

The brand has been creating cult products since the’70s, but is now resting an entire relaunch in Kennedy’s hands, or rather, her hair. Whipped Crème is a non-sticky and sweet-smelling shaping cream.

Wait, a styling tool for a D.I.Y. icon? “I’m always switching it up and playing with different looks.  This product is actually something I can use,” Kennedy explains.

I’m going to bluntly come out and say this, I really really dislike this girl. But I have to admit that she looks pretty good in these photos. But again, anyone can look great if given the right tools (make up artists, hair dressers, and the right lighting). I just don’t understand why she looks like trash most of the time when she CAN look like this!

Next up on the collaboration trail are indie girls Cory Kennedy, Jenny Han, and Lisa Kline (above) for Billabong. Personally, Cory could not sell me anything, but Lisa is a hottie, and putting her in a bikini for Billabong is a really great marketing ploy. The funny part is that this is all for charity. Billabong has jumped onto the charity bandwagon when they realized that the only people that pay attention to their brand are twelve year old girls that shop at Pacific Sun. Now two years in the making, Design for Humanity is going strong this year benefiting the Surfrider Foundation. The entire collection will be available June 4th on ebay. We’ve been thinking about that Radar Magazine article on American Apparel’s The Dov and we realize that we officially heart Claire Salinda, the AA model who still loves the skeevy CEO.   Can someone give this girl some more playtime or feature her on a cover or something. She’s a lot hotter than hipster princess Cory Kennedy, she doesn’t look like a cracked out pencil-thin, and she’s hispanical, which gives her brownie points with me.  Someone jump on this quickly!!!

What’s the deal with these sites?  Is it really all that fun to see who went to a party you didn’t get invited too?

Very excited, especially since feeling jealousy toward Susie Bubble for getting an invite, who we met Sunday night at The Box. What a sweet girl! Thursday is the NY Couture show. Everyone needs to be there! After all, she is the new Heatherette.

Then Friday, off to the Gen Art Fall 2008 Fashion Show. And this year, they are mixing things up. The nations leading art and fashion organization is showcasing one chosen designer, instead of their normal three. Camilla Staerk will be presenting her label, STAERK. The collection titled “Bride of the Black Moon,” will return her beloved noir palette and luxurious textures of leather and lace. Looking forward to seeing that, and meeting the designer. Many shows have come and gone this past week, but one still stands out in my mind. Maybe because of the celebrities, maybe because of the floor length gowns that I would never have a place to wear to, but mainly because of the abundance of FUR. I know, I know! Fur is bad, PETA will not be happy with me, but what can I say, it’s the Russian in me. Venexiana was a show unlike any other. With looks that included full length fur coats, sequence cocktail dresses, and floor length silk gowns. I was speechless…Imagine that!

Our favorite UK blogger Susie Bubble from Style Bubble makes her New York Debut. The girl will be rocking with Madonna at the upcoming Gucci party in Central Park. Two thoughts that I was wrong about – 1. She is so not short. 2. She has a British accent. Super cute, uber stylish.

JoMarie, our stylish fashion week friendly, got up close and personal with Kyle XY (Matt Dallas).  This dude is so not gay. He hit on anything and everything with boobs. After asking him to show us his belly button, we discussed whether pretty boys are considered cute or hot.  Conversation ended when Beckham trumped all.

After all the excitement of meeting a real “celebrity” I headed to VIP to party with Iqons magazines and Shaded View of Fashion star, Diane Pernet.  Through her raspy voice she gave me some insight on making a blog spectacular. She smelled like the incents from a Catholic church. It was Commes de Garcons perfume, of course.

After THE BOX and the Iqons Magazine party we headed to Terexov after party. Vodka and Caviar and models, oh my.

Later is was over to La Esquina (yes, Serge Becker owns my ass).  Mexican luchadores and more models abounded.  Checked the watch, 3AM. Better head home and get some sleep, day four is tomorrow and it’s the busiest yet.  See ya tomorrow indies.

Day one came and I slept in. I missed opening ceremony with the Lipstick Jungle girls and ran to the tents just in time to grab my pass before Duckie Brown. That collection disappointed (sorry boys, I know I suck) and the next thing to look forward to was a meeting with my lawyers (we’ve been discussing the legal blah blah of a merger with Trendible.com. Go there, join and tell your friends). Heading back to the office in the pouring rain, I thought it was only right to curse the heavens as a speediant cab drove me past the tents at just the right time to see a bevy of paparazzis snapping at somenobody from One Tree Hill or America’s Next Top Porn Star.

At the office we quickly regrouped. Busie to Yeolee at the New Museum and the rest of us to meet with Cassie of New York Couture and the MTV True Life crew (yeah Indies we are being filmed by True Life!!!). If you don’t know New York Couture, get to know it. This girl is the next Heatherette and her show next week will feature the very best in new artists, drag queens and live performances. We walked through sound and lighting for the show and made sure that timing was okay. Jessica interviewed Cassie (seriously this girl can be an anchor, someone hire her) and we made our way out of Rebel to head to Edwing D’Anglo’s “Awakening” show.

After about an hour and a half, Amanda Lepore randomly strolled in. We stopped caring and headed out early since the place was packed with non-industry types and we completely couldn’t miss our “Project Runway” secret show. Bumped into Christian (the kid), Jack (the Flashdancer), and Jay (season one). Fell in love with Elisa (she is too cute).

Victorya Hong showed a collection which was even “too safe” for Banana Republic. After, we ran to the tents to see Venexiana. Rebecca’s addiction to fur was in high force as the collection played through. Early on we saw some strong pieces but later on the beauty queen/My Super Sweet 16 dresses failed to impress. After we congratulated Kati Stern, said hi to Malan Breton (our Project Runway favorite who’s showing at the tents this year) and Nole (Top Model Dude) and chilled with our favorite photographer Rick Louis.

Later we headed to Tenjune for the Duckie Brown party and then skipped it to head to Arena for Seven New York‘s party. Insane till I got a bit tipsy and headed home which I regretted since B.F.F’s stayed and chilled with designer Bernard Willhelm.

Day Two.

Headed out to Academy of Arts. Loved Juhee Chung for women and Shady N. R. Elias for men (change your name to Shady Elias and you’ll be fine). Eel skin might be my knew favorite skin thanks to Elias. Brunch at Penelope’s and then back to the tents for Anorexic Herchcovich. Every other model looked like they had cancer and we’re on life support. For some reason I was expecting more from this Brazilian designer, especially since most Brazilian girls are a bit more sumptuously hot (i.e. Gisele). Feed your models dude, cause the girls bulging veins really distracted me from your halfway decent collection.

Fashion Indie supports anti-life support models. This dude doesn’t.

Backstage I congratulated Cobra Snake on his Paper Magazine Nightlife Award win (I’m guessing that’s like the Oscar’s of his field) and was quickly entranced by Cory Kennedy, who seems so much more down to earth in person (I officially retract about half the things I may have said or thought about her). Rebecca thought she looked a bit “nappy” and I was a bit in shock that I was the only one in my crew of four that knew who she really was (I really need to stop reading Nylon).

Two of the Misshapes showed up. Leigh needs to eat something, pronto. The girl used to be hot, but now she’s just scary looking (also see black is out, wear some color).

Was tired after the show so headed home. Skipped Ruffian, Sass & Bide, Rock & Republic, Alexander Wang and all the afterparties. Guess I’m getting too old for this sh*t.

Final Thoughts.

- Thanks to Bob Bland of Brooklyn Royalty (amazing dull name for a pretty cool girl) for pointing out Anorexic Herchcovich’s view on eating disorders. You we’re right, we can’t support this.

- Cory Kennedy is still cool. I can’t really hate on anyone successful who is younger than me.

- Cobra Snake, also cool but he really should dress better and get a hair cut. (if you need a stylist please feel free to contact us.)

- Cassie K. of NY Couture is the next Heatherette. Spread it like hotcakes.

- Edwing D’angelo is no Marc Jacobs. Start your show on time next season, buddy.
