Usually not one to star in stellar editorials, Megan Fox is turning in the June/July 2010 issue of Interview. Photographed by Craig McDean, Fox seduces her mannequin self in a series of mildly S&M photographs. Anna Wintour has been credited/blamed/lauded/criticized for the current proliferation of celebrity-driven magazine covers of the past 15 years or so. Love it or hate it, a model has a better chance winning a Pulitzer than landing a U.S. Vogue cover — with a few notable exceptions. While stars are rightfully and contractually beautiful, however, not all of them can cut the couture mustard. Then there are those ladies who love the camera and the camera is kind of obsessed with them. St. John treated Oscar-winning leading lady Kate Winslet to a glamorous photoshoot with Craig McDean…at an old movie theater in Jersey City. Purportedly to play up the fact that she is a “real woman.”

Former model and aspiring actress January Jones has not one but two covers for W‘s special “Design Now” May issue, photographed by Craig McDean and styled by Lori Goldstein. I’ve always been on the fence with Jones and though I still consider her the worst part of Mad Men, her two striking covers and her red carpet style are beginning to win me over. What can I say? — I’m a sucker for an austere haircut and a pair of gams til next Tuesday.

Amber Valletta graces two Vogue editorials this month, one for Anna‘s American edition and another for Franca‘s Italian. For both, Amber plays what seems a woman barely able to cope with all this damn beauty — something with which I can certainly sympathize.
