Detroit Fashion Week Is Michigans Only Fashion Industry Event

I had never heard that Detroit has a Fashion Week, but apparently they do. I’m sorry that I didn’t cover this, maybe next year, since you know, as the website says it’s Michigan’s “only fashion industry event.” That makes it sound so much more sad than exciting.

This year’s week was sponsored by the CW and showcased designs by Reco Chapple of Bravo’s ‘The Fashion Show,’ and Bianca Golden from one of the millions of seasons of America’s Next Top Model.

Rest Easy Gossip Girl Fans, Cum Laude Is Upon Us

I learned from Buzznet

that Gossip Girl (the books, not the show) author Cecily von Ziegesar is planning to unleash a new series, Cum Laude, which follows Blair Waldorf to college.  However, in the books Blair attends college in the fictional town of Home, Maine, and meets a new slew of friends to torment.  Fingers crossed that this books series will continue our favorite, best styled show on the CW.  The first two books of the series are due out this fall, just in time for network debuts. OMFG! Gossip Girl is Risque?

Gossip Girl…everyone loves it…parents are pissed!!! The preceding ads have caused quite the stir among parents. Call me cynical but these same parents protesting should be watching their little “active” teens. It is a television show. Get over it. Since when is teen sex considered risque? Especially, when the baby boomers hit puberty? The current parental generation invented crazy sex and drugs. At least today’s teens are not dropping acid and walking around naked in Berkeley CA.  Look who’s calling the kettle black. At least the CW has shown their humor by using the Parent’s Television Council’s (PTC) negative review of GG and other disapproving reviews, in their own ads. For instance the PTC called the program, “mind blowingly inappropriate”, nice pun! The PTC’s quote can be seen on the top right, in all it’s glory.
