We actually still don’t know how this Montreal-based crunk disco/electro band got its name, but we are totally obsessed with this weirdly cool video for the song ”Drama.” Composed of three superheros, Foxed Up, Marx Menace and Wolfcall, Black Tiger Sex Machine uses chains in an underground club, a seemingly illegal card game, Russian roulette and Daft Punk-esque masks to punctuate energetic beats. I’m just glad someone is wearing metallic gold foil on her eyebrows. Video after the jump.

Opening Ceremony Nails Tron Legacy, Births Sneaker-Heel Hybrid

I want to surf on a stream of neon. I want to tear into a scuba suit, line it with blinding light, and sprint in 5 ½ inch heels. I want to see Tron so I can understand why they get to look like a streak of lightening morphed into a glistening rubber body. But more than I want to watch the movie, I want these shoes, BAD.

With a body of neoprene and a bubbly rubber sole encasement, these Tron Legacy x Opening Ceremony sneaker-heel-hybrids look fit to work. They look light, like the weight of those sneakers that make your socks look like fat asses. Only pretty.

They are reminiscent of Ruthie Davis, whose shoes are the self-proclaimed offspring of a passionate love affair between Nike and Manolo. These Opening Ceremony kicks look more like K-Swiss fucked Michael Kors. It was hot.

Thanks Opening Ceremony, for creating this Tron Legacy inspired beauty. If you still had them available in more than just the aqua blue, I’d be jogging in them tomorrow to Tron’s Daft Punk soundtrack.

Debuting Tomorrow, Hong Kong brand SILLY THING teamed up with Daft Punk for their next Kubrik set. You’ll be able to get it at Cool Cats (online), the THINK SILLY store in Hong Kong, and a few other online retailers that haven’t been announced yet (most likely Joyce Hong Kong, Dover Street Market, colette, Surrender, and Contemporary Fix). I think these Lego people looking Daft Punk collectibles are so cool! What do you guys think?

I’ve been ridiculously bored with spreads lately. As if we all haven’t seen the same models featured over and over again, photographers have certainly been lacking in the creativity department. The fashion gods must have heard my complaints, because I recently stumbled upon Reed + Rader, the collaborative photographer duo of Pamela Reed and Matther Rader. Reed + Rader incorporate futuristic graphic designs within their photography to give their work a video game/robotic/ space age vibe. Based in Brooklyn, Reed + Rader told New Wave that they’d love to work with Daft Punk, Rick Owens and Gareth Pugh…um, can you say potential for the most epic fashion spread on the planet? I really look forward to seeing this pair pump out some awesome spreads in the near future!
