The Metropolitan Museum of Art‘s annual Costume Institute Gala is tirelessly referred to as the Oscars of fashion and it certainly ranks as the industry’s glitziest and most glamorous night.  But unlike the Oscars red carpet, where actresses willfully play it safe for fear of a career-defining performance on the worst dressed list, at the Met Gala the balls are to the haute couture wall. This is Fashion with a capital effin’ F. Sometimes the results are truly stunning and other times they’re…how can I put this gently…god-awful. It’s been a few days since we’ve wanted to scream in Karlie Kloss‘ face — out of love — but we knew it wouldn’t be long before there was something worth yelling about. In SHOWstudio‘s latest film series, “Fashion Fetish,” women in fashion — including Daphne Guinness, Lily Donaldson and Amanda Harlech — create performances and multi-media pieces “that comment on the contentious and provocative fusion of fashion with fetish.” Here, filmmaker Ruth Hogben directs Karlie, Ms. Kloss ’cause we’re nasty, playing with herself in Fuck Me. Virtual Statues of Daphne Guinness to Go on Display in Paris Department Store

Daphne Guinness is going on display once again. But this time it’s not a window performance piece at Barneys nor an exhibit dedicated to her enviable collection of couture. Paris department store Printemps has teamed with the heiress and photographer Nick Knight‘s SHOWstudio to create virtual mannequins of Guinness for their store windows, using photographic images rendered using cutting-edge three-dimensional scanning technology.
