Celebrating their 30 year anniversary, Canadian fashion mag FLARE booked supermodel Daria Werbowy for  3 covers of its latest issue.

I recall a frantic phone call back in March when a good friend of mine called to tell me he had just bumped into Daria Werbowy near St. Mark’s. Completely in awe by her beauty, he was definitely at a loss of words, a speechlessness Vogue is certainly aiming for by using Werbowy as the only editorial model in their August 2009 issue. The same “one and only” model ploy was used with Lara Stone back in February, and I must agree, that was one of their better publications. Photographed by Inez Van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin, Werbowy is going to look stunning as ever…looking forward to sharing the spreads with you!

Kate Moss landed another campaign for Longchamp, and is shot along with Daria Werbowy by Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott.  Not really sure what’s going on with the soldiers, but the girls look ultra-glamorous with their red lips and super-sleek clothing.

As the girl who traded in her ballet shoes for snowboard boots and her dollhouse for a hockey stick , there is no wonder why I put myself, hobby wise, on the same level as model Daria Werbowy. Before the catwalks and magazine covers, Werbowy spent her time on the slopes, chilling at the skate park, shooting hoops, tossing the rugby ball and sailing the deep blue seas. But her knockout legs aren’t the only attribute Werbowy scored from her athletic youth, she acquired a stiff upper lip and a backbone of steal. 

Hoping to spread her love for action sports, Werbowy is a recent sponsor of Stoked, a non-profit organization that gives underprivileged youth the opportunity to learn and participate in these relatively expensive and inaccessible sports. If you’re down to help out, meet some affluent models, have a few cocktails and a good time, Werbowy is hosting a spring benefit in honor of Stoked. While designers are helping to protect the earth’s sustainability, it’s good to know other fashion icons are doing their part too!

Monday night’s feature presentation might have been the photographs in the Model as Muse exhibit at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, but coming in close second were the muse models themselves. I’ve run into a few of these bread winners on the street, but I must admit, nothing would be more intimidating than being towered over by a glamorous, naturally gorgeous and fashionable beanpole.

I have few qualms here. Anja Rubik showed some major leg. Daria Werbowy braved the infamous Balmain shoulders. Erin Wasson rocked the androgynous look. Sasha Pivovarova went simple on the dress and crazy on the feathers. But Natalia Vodianova…she looked like an innocent Princess Peach. This is the Met Gala, not a Super Mario convention.

V Magazine’s swimsuit issue is really the only thing I care about this week. Beautiful models, it tiny little swimwear equals more than enough joy for all of us. “We chose the sexiest bodies in the world and those that had a special connection to the Testino world; a lot of the guys and girls photographed grew up with V readers over the years.” Check out who made the cut below.

Gisele Bundchen, along with five other supermodels (Kate Moss, Claudia Schiffer, Naomi Campbell, Eva Herzigova, Daria Werbowy) takes the cover of V Magazine’s summer issue – the first-ever Swimsuit issue. The issue is out on Wednesday, May 6th!

We featured the cover yesterday, here is the spread inside, featuring Daria Werbowy photographed by Inez & Vinoodh. Love this kick ass (literally) spread!

Summer is all about road tripping, but that doesn’t mean your whole uniform has to be cut-offs and a beater. The very 80s silhouette of Balmain’s drummer boy coat is the perfect contradiction to the Western-like roadside diner in the background. Shot by Inez van Lamsweerde & Vinoodh Matadin, this photo grabs my attention immediately. Daria Werbowy’s hard pose doesn’t distract attention away from the scene, but rather intensifies the look and feel of a deserted country road. I’m not a huge fan of the ripped, dirty jeans, but they look fantastic here with stilettos and the structured jacket. I’ll have to keep this in mind the next time I’m packing for a long weekend.

H&M regularly has ads that are a lot better than you’d think a chain retailer would have.  These ads are no exception, as Daria Werbowy stars in the summery campaign for Matthew Williamson’s collaboration with H&M.

The Asian-inspired styling of this shot is highlighted wonderfully by the incredible colors.

Really boring cover of UK Vogue, I’m getting the feeling that Mario Testino was not inspired when shooting this.

Daria Werbowy and Matthew Williamson took a little beach vacation to shoot his latest collection for H&M. Yeah, we’re jealous.

Info on Matthew Williamson’s line for H&M has been emerging slowly over the months.

The collection debuts in stores April 23, and the latest updates are some sneak peeks at a few of the pieces, as well as a scan from Dutch ELLE.  There are several silk pieces — blue silk suit, tan silk jumpsuit, and a silk dress — along with a sequin minidress and a peacock-print dress.

The jumpsuit, above, follows Alexander McQueen’s McQ for Target capri jumpsuit, but is more safari/resort and less utilitarian than McQueen’s.  It’s more fashiony and less punk.

We’ll have to wait a bit to see how all the pieces fit — Williamson’s Solve Sundsbo-shot campaign (featuring Daria Werbowy) debuts in May.

From needles and thread to cameras and poses, Matthew Williamson is slated to model his upcoming collection for H&M. Alongside Canadian model Daria Werbowy, Williamson models pieces from his men’s collection shot in Tulum, Mexico. Unreleased at this time, the campaign, shot by photographer Solve Sundsbo, will break in May while the collection is planned to hit H&M stores sometime in April. Welcome to the world of modeling Mr. Williamson!
