Dazzle Me Formal
LOOKBOOK: Dazzle Me Formal, Fall 2009

The latest collection from my friends at Dazzle Me Formal is one I’m super excited about. The Smooth Criminals collection is based on the faces of Hollywood that were part of famous domestic abuse incidents. I know that may sound a bit harsh, but it focuses even more on the idea that they are normally kept quite and the repercussions are minimal.

The line features two of the most famous battered couples in the Hollywood, Madonna and Sean Penn, and Chris Brown and Rihanna. The distressed look of the shirts is really awesome as well.
Want one of these for yourself? Get one here!

Last (Weeks) Party: Black and White Party Hosted By This Is An Empire

Along with turkey and stuffing, Thanksgiving vacation also brings a ton of partying. This year (as always) I returned to my home in Buffalo, NY with low party expectations, and a plan of drinking solely to ease my boredom. Much to my surprise I was greeted with an amazing party on Saturday night, a party so good that it was Fashion Indie worthy.
The party was hosted by the Dj crew/band This Is An Empire, and co-hosted by Fashion Indie friends Dazzle Me Formal. Dj Dstar was spinning all night, and everyone was having an amazing time. For those of you who don’t know who dj Dstar is be sure to check out his website, he is insane! Tons of Fashion Indie fans and friends were there having a good time.
The scene was very Williamsburg-esque, and I’m sure even the New York City “it” kids are salivating over missing this underground dance party extravaganza. Check out the great pictures my lovely friend Lauren snapped for me, and be sure to check out This Is An Empire, dj Dstar and Dazzle Me Formal because despite what you may think, trendy “it” kids do exist outside of New York City.

Designer Discovery: Dazzle Me Formal
Dazzle MeDazzle Me Formal consists of a bunch of home town heroes to me, as they are a group of my closest friends from Buffalo, NY. The founder, Seabass Heidinger, started the company in high school and has been developing the company since. Dazzle Me Formal (DMF for short) has quickly transformed from a t-shirt company into the mutant child of a street wear company, and an indie essentials brand. Inspired by their pride for deadly cold Buffalo, DMF offers a solid collection of screen printed shirts, hoodies, and hats that are bank account friendly. With a large following in my home town, the DMF Crew is compiled from the “it” kids in Buffalo, and is starting to spread the seed of Dazzle Me Formal across America, Canada, and the UK. My personal favorites are the Fonze shirt and the sleeveless hoodie, which are both under $40 each. For more on Dazzle Me Formal be sure to check out their website and webstore.
