The Kentucky Derby may be known as a horse tournament to most, but there’s another, more fashionable, contest that has been becoming more prevalent each year.  The annual equestrian race may not be your average runway show, but the array of unusual hats make it quite the stylish competition.  Apart from betting on horses, women (and men!) of all ages bring out their craziest getups to show off their wealth personal flare.  Between the frou-frou feathers to the flower explosions, here are 25 of our favorite Kentucky Derby hats this year.

The scene backstage at Michael Kors involved superstar models like Lindsey Wixon and Candace Swanepoel getting all rosy cheeked, ripped male models in their Michael Kors tighty whiteys, and copious fur. Kirill was there to lens every move, including the graced presences of Grace Debra Messing, Jessica Alba, Nina Garcia (obviously), and elite others. Flip through and feel like you were there.

I’ve added these fierce cat-eye sunglasses to our Coveting section a while ago, citing that these are becoming the new ‘it’ sunglasses. And voilà! Scarlett Johanson, Rihanna, Paris Hilton, Kelly Osbourne (one of the firsts to rock Alexander Wang+Linda Farrow cat-eye sunglasses last year), Debra Messing and Dorota ‘Doda’ Rabczewska, all looove them some Tom Ford cat-eye goodness, that is these Nikita sunglasses. Who is this Doda person you probably ask yourself, while admiring the perfect curves of these frames? Well, she’s arguably the most successful Polish pop star to date, and I included her because I couldn’t pass on the opportunity to mention to a woman that calls herself Doda Elektroda.

So here you go, quick, before they become overexposed (i.e masses of hipster girls didn’t buy them out yet), treat yourself to a pair as well.

Christian Gets Some Celeb Exposure

We all know that we’re always wondering what happens to our beloved winners, and high-achieving contestants, of Project Runway once their season splits. Well, here’s the update on Christian. Though he’s recently been hitting a couple bumps in the road, trying to sell pieces from his line, word has it Christian was just awaiting the next best thing! First he was designing pieces for Anne Hathaway and Debra Messing; however, now he’s all ready for those Pussycat dolls. Hmm..not sure where Anne Hathaway, Ms. Messing and the Dolls click, but hey, it’s all about versatility folks.
