Statement Pieces: I’m always a fan of a sack and this number was  a personal favorite — like something a younger, sexier Grandma Yetta would wear on a date.

Makeup: There were bejeweled collars which — understandably — took my attention from the models’ faces.

Front Row Name Drops: Someone left the door to Terry Richardson‘s gutter open and he waltzed in shortly before the show started. Front row regulars Mickey Boardman, Derek Blasberg and Waris Ahluwalia. I also thought I saw fitness celebrity John Basedow, but sadly, I was mistaken.

Runway Music: All right, confession time. See, there were waiters walking around with mini-bottles of Prosecco, right. And I was already clawing at the bottom of mine by the time the lights dimmed. So between that and my obsessive tweeting, kinda missed that part. But it was loud, if that helps. #fail

While still fourth among fashion pubs in ad pages, the March issue saw a 15.5% increase with new advertisers including Tom Ford, Hervé Léger and Alberta Ferretti. Between those ads you’ll notice new features such as “The List” — “the ultimate list of things to be aware of this month,” according to Bailey — a monthly travel column called “The Escape,” an expanded beauty section, more news and Derek Blasberg‘s previously online only “Best-Dressed List” makes its way to a monthly column.

I love that Paris is rocking nude lipstick, a very difficult look to pull off. And could she actually be showing emotion with her eyes? Me thinks so and is fully engaged.

I’ve never even heard of that last one — nor did I care to — but what do you think of this list? [Net-a-Porter]

Held at New York’s Palace Hotel, we channeled out inner Chuck Bass and mingled in the Madison Room sipping on Belvedere “Thomas Tait” concoctions and the fanciest version of a breakfast sandwich I’ve ever seen (tapioca bacon balls with whipped egg and crunchy toast crumbs).

Last year’s winner Thomas Tait stood proudly by one of his stunningly sculptured pieces for Fall/Winter 2011.  Tait is now also a design consultant for one of the Dorchester Collection hotel’s newest locations.

The competition judges were whisked to the hotel in breathtaking Rolls-Royce Phantoms (ahem, Rolls Royce, feel free to send some love our way), where they mingled with last year’s winner and shared excitement for what type of talent was yet to come.  The panel includes: Giovana Battaglia, Derek Blasberg, Shala Monroque (photo above) Thom Browne, Francisco Costa, Lauren Santo Domingo, and Elizabeth Saltzman.

Every week I set a new book for myself to read, just something to add to my life. This week I came across a book called Classy by the one and only V Magazine’s Editor Derek Blasberg. I might be behind a bit on this update, finding out that this book came out in April but is this a joke?!

Even though she allegedly wasn’t allowed at New York Fashion Week, or at least not asked to return to her position at Emmanuel Ungaro, Lindsay Lohan continued to do what she does best – party – at a bash in Paris to celebrate Fashion Week.

I’m loving the heavy eyeliner under her hipster glasses and the denim cutoff vest. I wonder if she made out with Derek Blasberg (pictured), a writer at V and VMAN. Hmmm…

The massive soiree, which was thrown by GrandLifeNYC and Tommy Saleh, was photographed by Steven Rojas for Nylon magazine’s Web site.  Also in attendence – Erin Wasson, Irina Lazareneau, and Henry Holland.

Leigh Lezark is out to make sure she never leaves the fashion spotlight. Olivier Zahm caught her macking hard on Derek Blasberg, Fashion News and Special Projects Editor at V and VMAN, contributing editor at Style.com and international editions of Vogue. He also writes for Interview, 10magazine and the London Sunday Times.

Derek Blasberg reports: “Word on the casting couch is that [Fox] is taking over the [Armani] fragrance campaign for Beyonce, AND the fashion campaign also. This, after a Fox bidding war with none other than Versace.”

Is “White Trash Chic” the latest craze or is it just plain crazy?

With the renewed vows of Heidi Klum and Seal on our minds (the two had a trashtastic ceremony, that’s Seal in a mullet and Heidi with cornrows above), we were starting to wonder if trailer park is the newest fashion trend. Pipeline answered our questions with a feature on the latest white trash inspired collections and photo shoots which have hit the glossies and runways recently. From A.Wang to Westwood, Marie Claire to Julia Restoin-Roitfel, it seems that the new money is down for looking like they ain’t got none.
