I get that some people are sensitive to smells, but when the sensitivity is taken to an entirely new level I start to get a bit confused.  A couple of days ago, three buildings in Detroit banned its workers from wearing any perfume or cologne to their jobs after a worker filed a lawsuit on the subject. The individual stated that her co-worker’s perfume “made it difficult for her to do her job”. I know some people have sudden allergic reactions to many of these fragrances, but if my co-worker was sitting next to me having an allergic reaction from my perfume I would stop wearing it without a complete ban on my entire building.  I’d say it’s a bit intense to invoke a law banning, perfume, cologne, lotions, scented deodorants,  scented candles, air fresheners, and even those small little fragrance strips in magazines!

Detroit’s auto industry has trained multiple generations of workers in design and manufacturing. Could this knowledge and skill be directly translated to fashion design? It’s an interesting concept, and I’m curious to see if anything lucrative emerges from Motor City.
