I love clothes. Can’t you tell?” said La Keaton, tongue firmly in cheek(o). Despite her modesty, Diane Keaton’s style credentials are as solid as they come. Her portrayal of scatterbrained, gender-bending heroine Annie Hall in Woody Allen‘s seminal romantic comedy is still one of the most iconic leading ladies in cinema and fashion.

<a

I do have to say, though, those Chico’s trousers are unflattering as all get out…but I digress.

In the Chico’s commercials, Diane shares her thoughts on life, love, family and clothes, such as this little gem she shared with WWD: “Love makes the world go ’round. And so do hats and gloves and a fabulous belt.” Oh, Diane, how’d you get so wise?

The print ads will start making their appearance this November in publications such as O, The Oprah Magazine, Harper’s Bazaar and InStyle with the commercials debuting this holiday season. The campaign’s tagline is “Live for the present” and as a little present — just because I’ll jump at any chance to write about Diane Keaton — have a little bit of this with your morning coffee:

<iframe

Inspired by Diane Keaton’s role as Annie Hall, Jansson’s spread features model Anna Jagodzinska dressed in an array of androgynous 70′s menswear. While the androgyny trend is a few seasons running, I love the simple, professional and somewhat preppy feel of this trendy throwback. But remember ladies, keep the hair and makeup feminine and simple to avoid the butch/costume/tranny look!
<p
