This 39-year-old First Lady of Cameroon, Chantal Biya,takes Lady Gaga to the White House.  Chantal is known for her big hair and crazy getups, and actually trendsparks lots of looks in Cameroon.  The Huffington Post reported:

In the past, she’s mentioned Dior and Chanel as a few of her favorite European labels, while the traditional African outfits she dons are custom-made, designed, and sewn by tailors … In Cameroon her wardrobe has made her so popular she routinely launches trends and has a hairstyle, the Chantal Biya, named after hair.

I mean, who meets the pope in a pink lace and sequined dress? She does, apparently. What do you think of this diva’s style?

Not that I’m in the market (or the age range) for a husband, but I just found my ideal engagement ring. Honestly, any guy who gets down on one knee with a Dior Joaillerie ring from the “Kings and Queens” collection has my heart. Designed by Victoire de Castellane, the skull and precious jems/stones pieces were created as a reminder that time is fleeting and the idea that we must enjoy life. I’m feeling the forest green ring, please and thank you.

Jason Kibbler shot Jourdan Dunn for Vogue Russia, who displays her versatility in these shots.  From beginning to end, Dunn goes from high society (in Dior), to high jumping (and her legs look gorgeous, I might add).  The only thing I’m not crazy about in this jump is her left wrist…I think the America’s Next Top Model judges would probably agree.

The 37th Annual Lighthouse International sale starts a week from today and will feature designers like Jason Wu, Christian Lacroix, Alexander McQueen, Burberry, DVF, Hermes, Lanvin, Marc Jacobs, Prada, YSL, Zac Posen, and others who donated to the sale. There’s a Chanel tweed jacket for $150, a wool Stella coat for $350, a $300 Marchesa gown and even a Dior wedding dress.

There are samples, vintage and slightly worn pieces from more recent runways – including Kim Cattrall’s green Jimmy Choos or her gold Valentino’s (above).

The sale takes place at 110 East 60th Street between Park and Lex from Thursday, May 14 to Saturday, May 16, 11am to 7pm and Sunday May 17th from 11am to 5pm. A one day pass is only $10, four days is $30 and you can buy tickets here.

With a natural, Victorian housewives meet “The Secret Garden” sort of vibe, Phil Poynter’s spread for Numéro 101 March 2009 is a beacon of fashion innocence. Okay, so we all know that ‘fashion’ and ‘innocence’ don’t belong in the same sentence, but models Alana Zimmer, Alyona Osmanova and Vika Kuropnyatkova make all that is naive, guiltless and pure somewhat real. Poynter’s use of natural light and overexposure are brilliant, in combination with the vulnerable poses, producing an eerie, yet beautiful scene. And to seal the deal, the vertical ruching on the Dior dress (pictured above) matches the brushed-back grain of Alyona Osmanova. I am in love.

As excepted, Alexander McQueen sent another jaw-dropping, show-stopping collection down the runways of Paris. McQueen’s Fall 2009 collection was a satire on fashion’s vast history, sending out models, with blow-up doll faces, wearing over-the-top versions of Dior’s famous houndstooth pattern and Chanel’s tweed suits. Umbrella headpieces, studded collars, wheel rims and saran wrap were among the bizarre accessories accompanying these enhanced, timeless pieces. Despite the entertainment, it’s hard to decide if this collection was an industry success. Although McQueen’s brilliant craftsmanship and silly, glamorous extravagance were admired, the designer didn’t push his envelope. We see crazy stuff from McQueen all the time. What makes this season any different?

I was feeling a little SEX AND THE CITY: with Fashion Week wrapped up in NYC. So today I re-picked up one of my “keeper” magazine, the June 2008 issue of Vogue with Sarah Jessica Parker on the cover and a spread featuring her and Chris Noth.

SJP’s makeup was flawless, the locations were beautiful, as were her designer dresses; some of my favorites; the Nina Ricci emerald green silk-satin dress, the Versace chiffon dress and the Chanel boucle’ suit, the Lanvin hat and Philip Crangi for Vera Wang cuff bracelet were all so lavish and girlie regal…and how can I forget about those Christian Louboutin pumps!

In the movie, she wore two amazing wedding dresses that was such a WOW factor for me. The elegant Vera Wang wedding dress and the Dior Haute Couture jacket and skirt were just breath taking.

I love doing fun makeup looks and this is one of my favorite…POP ART…it’s easy and fun, well at least for me. I broke it down to help you get this look.

EYES

Apply Sephora Brand Buildable Cover Concealer to prep lids before applying the golden peach shade from NARS Highlighting/Bronzing Blush Duo in Hungry Heart to the upper eyelids. Next, line inside the lower lash lines with Make Up For Ever Aqua Eyes in White.

Use a clean mascara wand to coat lower lashes with Make Up For Ever Flash Color in White 10. Work lots of Bare Escentuals Buxom Lash mascara on to the upper lashes before applying Make Up For Ever Lashes Strip # 25026. Perfect brows with the Anastasia Highlighting Brow Kit.

CHEEKS

It’s super simple to create, layer a bright pink of Sephora Blush Me Mono Blush from the cheekbone down, concentrating the color around the apples. If you add to much color on the cheeks apply foundation over your blush to tone it down. The end result should look equal parts hot and healthy.

LIPS

Use Dior Addict Shine in Pink Lust topped off with Make Up For Ever Glossy Full Couleur in #4 for candy-coated shine.

Think big, think monumental, think ruffles! You sure won’t have a hard time imagining any of these things with the Dior Spring/Summer ‘09 collection. Taking on extravagant in just about every form, the designer explores oversized sleeves, bright colors, and lots upon lots of ruffles. The tight waistline may be just about the only thing that’s not enormous. Using lace and other materials, the designer creates a display that’s sure to make a splash.

New York. Paris. London. Milan. Each city’s fashion week has at least one thing in common, the presence of Anna Wintour, Carine Roitfeld, and the rapper we love to hate, Kanye West. But a seat was almost left empty at Men’s Fashion Week in Paris as the “Louis Vuitton Don” left his always necessary passport back in Los Angeles! After pulling a few strings and dropping a few beats in Washington DC at several inaugural balls, the State Department issued the auto-tune crapper a new passport…and just in time to catch Raf Simons upon landing! There is a lesson to be learned here: Lack of planning and forgetfulness still land you front row seats at Dior and Lanvin.

Kris Van Assche went from zero to hero all in a very short period of time, and his own collection was the tipping point for me. The collection is completely different from what he has been offering with Dior Homme, and I love it. I feel like working under a label name like Dior ha limited what he is able to design. The collection he produced was trendy, stylish and the textures were amazing. Kris Van Assche, consider me your new biggest fan (sort of).

Kris Van Assche has always gotten skeptical reviews from me in the past when concerning his work with Dior Homme, but I think he may have gained a few points back with this collection. Paris Fashion Week was the host for the latest from the French luxury brand, and the newest collection featured all black pieces with a few white accents. The pinstriped pieces looked great, and the necklines and unique collars were the real highlight for me. Solid collection.
