Sony Ericsson has teamed up with Dolce and Gabbana to release a sexy little phone based on the Jalou design. The ‘IT’ gadget has a rose-coloured body and 24-carat gold plating, and features a 3.2 megapixel camera, mirror key and music player.

A short film has also been created specially for the phone and directed by film director Cyril Guyot.

Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana’s Spring 2010 collection was reminiscent of romanticized version of Moulin Rouge. Dolce & Gabbana really toyed with the idea of gender identity, covering every base, from the ultra feminine, sexy corset dress to the masculine ringmaster suits, and everything in between. But no matter which gender was portrayed, Dolce & Gabbana was made it their prerogative to keep the curvy female silhouette in mind.

I honestly don’t know why all these design houses kill themselves for this granny. Everyone with an eye on fashion knows her only true love is that Jersey douchebag, Ed Hardy.

This is Dolce & Gabbana? I’m with Obsessed With Shoes in the disbelief boat.

Their Fall 2009 shoe collection brings us chunky suede wedges, gold wedges with black ruffles, and just weirdness. There’s nothing cohesive about the collection except the gross shade of pink. The shoes don’t even have an ugly-cool vibe, or any real sculptural interest.  Five bucks says Chloe Sevigny gets her toes in a pair soon and render them awesome?  Please?

The Dolce & Gabbana fall 2009 collection is everything I hoped for and more. Dresses with gigantic sleeves, polka dot suits and long leather gloves worn as scarves gave modern looks to very 1930s/1940s silhouettes. Dresses with black and white prints of Marilyn Monroe got larger as the show went on. The last dress had a cage crinoline that could take up an entire New York sidewalk. I thought the boys did a wonderful job of saluting classic femininity and style with this collection. Now I just need a reasonable excuse to max out my credit card for one these dresses.

With spring break just around the corner, I find it more likely that some indies will be making the transatlantic  journey to Milan for a fabulous fashion themed getaway. If you happen to be one of those lucky few, I advise that you make time to visit Milan’s Palazzo della Ragione for the “Extreme Beauty In Vogue” exhibit. In honor of Dolce & Gabbana’s makeup collection debut, the exhibit analyzes the role of beauty in modern culture via Vogue spreads over the past 75 years. The breathtaking works of world renowned photographers like Annie Leibovitz, Irving Penn, Richard Avedon and Steven Klein appear in the exhibit created and curated by American Vogue. Excuse me while I go book plane tickets to Italy.

Besides the cameo from those horrible pajamas Dolce & Gabbana walked down the runway at their spring 2009 show, I really love this series of ads. Models Mariacarla Boscono, Caroline Trentini and Karlie Kloss perfect the lush scene shot by Steven Klein. Pajama vomit aside, the clothing looks absolutely phenomenal; the boys knew what they were doing while creating these silhouettes. The best part about this is the hot, tattooed, badass of a camera woman in the background. I love that her randomness creates the perfect balance throughout this campaign.
