Doo.Ri Fall 2010 was a bit of a disappointment in comparison to previous collections. Doo-Ri Chung started off strong with two gorgeous navy structural pieces (a suit and belted dress) with draped black netting detail. But things went awry when Chung dabbled with bright red, sequins and several musky patterns. Interspersed with a few good looks, namely the rust leather jacket and draped silk dress, the collection had a few memorable pieces, but generally speaking, Chung was a bit off this season.

A new trend seen online is changing your accessories to make them something “new” and “unique” with just a little paint, beads, or other embellishment.

Doe Deere of Lime Crime showed how she painted the bottom of her pumps bright, baby blue here—and also referred us to others online who are using their creativity on accessories.

Like these tights that were inspired by the ones this blogger saw Doo.Ri’s fall 2009 collection.

I love DIY fashion and this goes to show that with a little bit of imagination and opening your craft supply box, you can create something pretty cool and even imitate what designers are doing, without the cost.

LOOKBOOK: Doo.Ri Pre-Fall 2010

Doo-Ri Chung used her Pre-Fall 2010 collection as a practice run for the Fall, playing around with prints prints, silhouettes and the everlasting “no no” combination of black and bold royal blue. The Lookbook really doesn’t do the collection justice, hiding the minute, but oh so necessary details that Doo.Ri is known for.

Any designer who gathers inspiration from metal for a collection has my support. Doing just that was Doo-ri Chung with her girly, but edgy, collection in primarily gray fabrics. While a plethora of chains and a leather vest were the only elements of hardcore girl, tops had so much detailing that “hardcore” is simply implied. The Doo.ri collection really speaks for itself and would probably be hindered by further accessories, rather than helped. Loving the gray lipstick too!

One of our favorite mainstream heading indies presented a Resort collection that featured loose fitting cargos that upheld an urban sophistication. We’re in love with the looks for how effortless they are.  And the scarf is a great add on without making me think of Palestine.
