Take a Trip to Scenic Xitang With Flair Italia

Dark, dreary, chilly – not adjectives that come to mind thinking about editorial spreads in April magazines. But there is a warmth and energy to this one that can’t be described by these visual aesthetics alone. Du Juan stars in the April 2011 Flair Italia spread “Viaggio A Xitang,” a story about the splendor of visiting an ancient, scenic China town captured by photographer Wing Shya. Juan is all dolled-up in the middle of a forlorn scene, a juxtaposition created by stylist Kanako B. Koga. Everything in this tiny, deserted town becomes fascinating, from burning red candles and paper lanterns to goldfish swimming in an aqua green light. It may not sound like much, but chances are you will want to stay awhile.

Tom Ford‘s Spring/Summer 2011 Women’s Collection was the most exclusive and buzzed about show last Fashion Week and now we can see what all the hubbub was about. Video after the JUMP!

The clothes are classic Tom Ford: a glittery mix of sophisticated sex appeal and high-voltage glamor. But who can look at the clothes when the women modeling them are just as stunning?

Julianne Moore, Natalia Vodianova, Carolyn Murphy, Lauren Hutton, Karlie Kloss, Chanel Iman, Daphne Guinness, Rinko Kikuchi, Lakshmi Menon, Daria Werbowy, Rita Wilson, Stella Tennant, Lou Doillon, Amber Valletta, Liya Kebede, Du Juan, Anja Rubik, Abby Lee Kershaw, Edita Vilkeviciute, Joan Smalls, Liu Wen, Freja Beha Erichsen, Julia Reston-Roitfeld, Jac Jagaciak, and the Queen of World, Beyoncé all stomped and vamped their way down the runway, flanked by the Anna Wintours of the world to the tune of fellow hoofer Karen Elson‘s “Pretty Babies.”

Needless to say, it requires multiple viewings.

Cameron Russell, Du Juan, Lakshmi Menon, Abbey Lee Kershaw, Bianca Balti and Constance Jablonski are the 6 stars of a beauty editorial titled “Making Waves” in Allure Magazine’s October 09 issue. Shot by legendary photography phenom Patrick Demarchelier, the photos are FIERCE. The hairstyles (the real stars of the editorial) and makeup are reminiscent of the 80s. One of the beauties sporting loose curls reminds me of the “The Breck Girl” while another has Jessica Rabbit-esque waves. The makeup is bold and bright, just how I like it. Overall a fabulous spread…
