- Alexis and Krystal Carrington have been turned into Barbie dolls for the 30th anniversary of Dynasty. Mattel has somehow perfected Alexis’ signature snide British bitchery though I was hoping Krystal would have the linebacker shoulders of her real life counterpart. - Even Steven Shia LeBouf was handcuffed after getting into a bar fight in L.A. The fight erupted after some guy called the Transformers star a “f*gg*t,” but when Shia lunged at him he got ka-powed in the face and suffered a split lip. That’s not nice at all! After posting photos of himself shirtless on his Twitter account, dozens of 20-year old girls who vaguely remember being in love with the non-Backstreet Carter an eternity (in pop culture) ago, emitted a faintly audible sigh.

And for the record, yes I would hit that. After double-bagging the condom. Perhaps triple…he did have a pretty decent run through all of young Hollywood cooter culture. Remember the Dynasty-esque love triangle between Lindsay‘s Alexis and Hilary Duff‘s Krystle for Aaron’s Blake.

Oh, wait, I forgot it’s 2010. Remember the Gossip-Girl-esque love triangle between Lindsay’s…eh, I already stopped caring.

Based on the classic Western shirt, these styles are named after Dynasty characters: Alexis, Sammy Jo and Krystle. I love the idea of creating a collection like this. Not to get all hippie and shit, but it sounds like a splendid, one-love collaboration to me.

I have to admit; I was a bit saddened when some of my favorite collections and designers—such as Marc by Marc Jacobs and even Diane Von Furstenberg—showed pieces for Spring 2010 with heavy 80’s flash-back incorporated into them. I’ve never been a big fan of that era, so seeing shoulder pads being accepted as fashionable once again will take some getting used to.

Patterns you’ve really only seen in reruns of The Cosby Show have suddenly thrown themselves back into major fashion again, along with a kaleidoscope of colors. Beyonce even sported a dress at the MTV Video Music Awards that looked all too much like a dress Joan Collins once wore on the show Dynasty.

So, find your crimper and big, floppy bow and get ready to look like you stepped out of a classic John Hughes movie this upcoming spring.
