BOUTIQUE CRITIQUE: 1 Of A Find Does Seven Vintage Looks

Edited by

When it comes to designer vintage, FashionIndie does not eff around.  We love everything about classic design – the uber-high quality, the meticulous craftmanship, the luxurious materials – not to mention the amazing stories that come with a Lanvin ball gown that is four decades old!  Every outfit tells a different story, and like we always say, the best stories are the ones told in designer.

This Boutique Critique is about the amazing designer vintage store, 1 Of A Find.  Curator and self-professed shopaholic Honey Moon goes on buying trips all over the world seeking out beautiful, unique, impossible-to-get-your-hands-on Hermes, Chanel, Gucci, Lacroix, and Lanvin to satisfy her international clientele.  She used me as a Barbie doll and transported me into worlds I only dream of.  Best part? Her prices are as unique as her collection, so we definitely recommend scooting over to her Brooklyn location asap.  Check out all our amazing finds after the jump.

Zip It Up Marc Jacobs

Edited by

Typically, zippers that don’t actually zip anything bug the hell out of me. Zippers exist to open and close; if they’re used as a design detail, it brings more life to the piece if the zipper really functions. Well, who comes in and tears my theory to shit? Marc Jacobs… damn you and your super adorable zipper stud earrings! Ah, just put them on and your face becomes the quilted stam you’ve been dreaming about. Gold or silver, choose your own hardware and zip it up the ears.

Now that we’re wearing less clothing, big, bright and bold jewelry is coming out of hibernation. Here are some of our favorite statement jewelry pieces for spring – let us know how you’re going to wear them.

Kates Design Turns Vintage Buttons Into Timeless Jewelry

Edited by

Katherine Heath was like many girls her age as a child. She loved to string beads and make friendship bracelets for family and friends. But her real design career started after her mother gave her bags full of vintage buttons that once belonged to her great-grandmother. From there, Kates Design was born. One-of-a-kind bracelets and earrings created from these vintage fastenings remind of a time when the detail of beautiful buttons was an everyday part of getting dressed. I sat down with Katherine to chat about her business, design process and what’s to come in her world of charming button accessories.

more going on than champagne cocktails…and if they were a part of a larger group –like a block party– so much the better! This is a subjective sampling, if you think I’m missing something let me know!
