The double breasted suit is  not one that  every man wears, but should. Wearing something like this shows that you are confident enough to break the mold and look good doing it.

I’ll be honest for a show that used to be so highly regarded for it’s wardrobes I must say it has been lacking severely. The only one remotely fashionable and good looking on the show anymore is Taylor Momsen.

The Wall Street Journal does fashion articles? Why? They are so dumb, and if you don’t believe me right this second you will when you step back and really look at this article they wrote on “Heavage”….yes “Heavage”This term “heavage” is apparently used to describe love cut shirts on men, which sure it’s a dumb name but whatever. It’s when they go into the reasons why it’s dumb that I think is rediculous. The article is so subjective it’s not even funny. I’m not a very big “heavage” person myself, but when you’re “trendbusting” something please make sure it’s something that looks bad on a high majority of people.

We’ll start at the root of the problem, Ed Westwick. Ed has a band called The Filthy Youth that he has put on hold to finish up with Gossip Girl. If you’re putting your so called “punk” band on hold to shoot a show called Gossip Girl, you shouldn’t be in a punk band. Not to mention the band really isn’t good. Don’t believe me? Check out their MySpace.

Next up Taylor Momsen. Trying to follow suit with Ed Westwick, she started a grunge inspired band called The Reckless that also isn’t good. Her bandmates suck, she’s awkward on stage, and there is a reason she got cut from being Hannah Montana back in the day, because she can’t really sing. I’ve listened to her songs over and over, and she sings in a monotoned voice. The point of grunge music is to scream and squeel, and while she tries she doesn’t succeed. If she really wants to start a band maybe something the in light of the Yeah Yeah Yeahs would be a bit more appropriate. Taylor has the look, she just needs the material to back it up.

And finally there’s Leighton Meester. Much to my suprise, B can sing (but then again so can anyone with auto tune)! Never the less, Leighton has by far the superior voice to the prior two, but again I don’t know where her intentions are with music. She chose to do her major debut doing guest vocals for the hipster dance wannabe’s Cobra Starship, but I’m interested in seeing where her career takes her. She belongs in pop music for sure.

For all these aspiring rock stars, maybe their music should remain a hobby. They will forever be cast in the shadow of their Gossip Girl Upper East Sider shadows. Not to mention, I thought that Jennifer Love Hewitt proved to world that sitcom stars can’t become triple threats (not since Jared Leto I guess, but look at him now!).

Here’s a video of the Cobra Starship song that Leighton is featured on. This isn’t the actual video, but that kid really sums up my point that Leighton picked the wrong song to debut on:

The CW has long held a spot in my heart for the way they are able to market their teen dramas. Gossip Girl ads are pure classics but it seems that 90210 doesn’t get the same kind of treatment that the folks behind Chuck Bass get. These ads are downright lame. Seriously, this top one featuring that open mouth kiss looks like a poor attempt to play with a blur tool on photoshop and the one featuring Tori Spelling is down right terrifying.  And really Diablo Cody of Juno fame, this is what you’re doing now, really?!?

So glad I choose not to watch this 90′s rehash. 90210, you are so NO.

“Ed has been gaining a lot of weight — not just around the waist, but throughout his whole body,” said an on-set source. “First, the costume department had to buy him new, bigger pants. Then, his shirts and jackets got way too snug. The costumers even requested that producers talk to Ed — they don’t want Chuck to be fat!”

I knew he was sucking his cheeks in when he talked, but I guess now he needs to suck in his gut.

Oh Terry, what we must do to make a buck. The posterboy of hipster sleaze and debauchery was forced to make some capital by photographing the oh so boring girls of that show that was really, really good for a while, but is no becoming redundant and not offering much in the way of story line or character development, Gossip Girl.

I actually do still love the show, but was totally disappointed by the last episode. Really? The Age of Innocence? Really? You couldn’t tell the uber gay director was gay Serena? Really? Dan’s still being on the show?!?

Anyway, back to Terry. His edge is off. He’s using big, pretty expensive camera’s now and I miss the old stuff, the gritty stuff, the stuff that didn’t look and feel like everyone else. I get that he’s now this brand, but stop with the diffusion lines and get back to the art (aka, have some real fun and actually make these girls do something with that hot dog). Basically, I feel let down Terry. I’m always rooting for you, but now I’m just hoping for a comeback.

The media thinks they are so slick with their little subliminal messages and indirect advertising schemes. But I smell some closed door deals involving the advertisement department of the Vogue corporation and the producers of Gossip Girl. If you’ve pay attention to Vogue and Teen Vogue lately, you’ll notice a common theme: Gossip Girl stars everywhere. With Blake Lively on the cover of Vogue’s February 2009 issue, Leighton Meester on the cover of Teen Vogue’s February 2009 issue and Ed Westwick’s feature in the Teen Vogue’s upcoming March 2009 issue, i’m starting to wonder if Vogue got paid for all of this advertising!  This is no coincidence folks. Call it “giving the reader what they want,” but the first quarter of the new year is bringing Gossip Girl overload to magazine racks, and it’s fishy like a Monday morning at South Street Seaport.

Taylor Momsen recently made an appearance at the Manhattan Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Annex, and as rock and roller after rock and roller paid tribute on stage, Miss Momsen looked on with envy. After the event she took time to talk to press of course, and it seems that Taylor has some musical aspirations of her. Apparently she has her own band that she is looking to get more and more involved with. She would be the third Gossip Girl-er to go from the Upper East Side to the stage, following in the footsteps of Ed Westwick and Leighton Meester. Any of you indies know the name of her band? Could this rocker babe just be pulling our leg?

I do think it is a bit weird though, it seems as though Westwick has taken on his character Chuck Bass as almost an alter ego. Westwick and Bass used to have different hairstyles, facial expressions, and all around way they carried themselves. Now it seems that Westwick has thrown out his former persona, and has become a 24/7 Gossip Guy.

Their new collection is being shown and previewed via video, and as weird and awkward as it is, it is way cooler than flipping through Flash Site images. Ed Westwick, Gossip Girls bad boy, has signed on as the new spokesmodel for American footwear company K-Swiss, reports E!. The 21-year-old British actor will sport K-Swiss’ iconic Classic shoe in the ad campaign (which is being shot in NYC), which will launch in February and will feature him holding tennis balls, rackets and guitars. There will also be TV spots, in which he’ll be singing a song from his bands (The Filthy Youth) albums.

Anyone notice that I actually called him by his real name, instead of my typical Chuck Bass/Charlie Trout? That’s because I actually don’t know where he’s headed looking so spiffy; show filming or a night out on the town? Yes you read that right, I’m over it. I have loved this show since is began, and I will continue to watch it as long as it airs, but it has become an hour of frustration and annoyance rather than entertainment. Say what you will, but this season has been very boring and monotonous. Correct me if I’m wrong but wasn’t the whole show about the gossip and drama around the school and between a social clique? There hasn’t been an episode in a long time where they post something on Gossip Girl in order to back stab someone. This last episode was really the icing on the cake that secured my disgust with the show so far. The opening scene random crap? Blair Waldorf a jealous socialite with tons of money who dresses like a mom for an entire episode? Fighting over a school they probably wouldn’t be able to get into due to the fact they never go to school in the first place. The fighting between Serena and Blair has just become annoying rather than a focus of conflict. The only thing worth watching anymore is the drama between the guys, not only is it entertaining, it is realistic (to a point). The whole show has just blatantly sucked, and has taken a focus on fashion (that hasn’t been that great either) and nothing else. Finally, when I thought I had gotten through the whole episode and I began to rejoice, the preview for next week came on. The next episode is so out of left field and has no connection to anything that has happened it’s ridiculous. In case you can’t tell I am a bit annoyed with the show, and I could honestly go on for days with things that have just been awful about the show. What do you think about this season indies? Antonio Azzuolo has been in the scene for years, and he continues to create amazing line after amazing line. From Gossip Girl, to Entourage and now an album? Be careful B, talks of an album hit me as a mistake at first, then I heard her sing. Leighton is pretty gosh darn talented if you ask me. Obviously she is no Amy Winehouse (minus the drug abuse), but she can sing a decent note or two. Could this on camera rivalry with Ed Westwick finally start to become a reality? On Gossip Girl Blair is always trying to one up Chuck, and with Ed Westwick frontmanning his band The Filthy Youth, could this be Leighton’s off camera punch in gut? Lauren Conrad picked up two surfboards for choice TV female reality/variety star as well as choice TV celebrity reality. I guess even though her clothing line utterly failed, some things managed to work out.

David Beckham showed up at the Teen Choice Awards with wife Victoria. He was looking great and dressed to impress as he posed with his surfboard.

Hayden Panettiere was nominated for choice TV actress and choice TV show as the show began. Hayden showed up in a girlie pink pick with an elegant flair.

Ms. Lively showed up to the awards ready to get recognized for her success. As she showed up in a stylish purple gettup, the actress took home surfboards for choice TV actress in a drama and choice TV breakout show.

Chace Crawford and Zac Efron came to the awards with fashion at the forefront. Chace took home breakout male star and choice TV breakout show.

Though the Teen Choice Awards haven’t premiered yet, we’ve snagged a sneak peak at our favorite young Hollywood indies. As Miley Cyrus, woman in charge, took the stage to answer to her hosting responsibilities the night took off with a splash. With awards like breakout performance and breakout show, the surfboards were up for grabs and everyone was in awe of the results. The blue carpet didn’t stand alone; celebrities strutted their stuff with a fashion foot forward as cameras flashed before the show. Check out the Teen Choice Awards tonight at 8pm on FOX.

The stars of Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants 2: Blake Lively, Alexis Bledel, America Ferrera and Amber Tamblyn.

The NYC premiere of The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants 2 came to town last Monday. The stars hit the red carpet dressed in adorable fashion. From casual to chic, the celebs looked fantastic. While Blake Lively’s orange Grecian Gucci dress was my favorite, Alexis Bledel overall look was stunning. America Ferrera’s cerulean Brian Reyes dress looked great on her skin tone, and Amber Tamblyn’s navy jumpsuit was daring.

Unfortunately, everybody was not fashion forward. Lohan was by far the worst dressed. She looked too casual, as though she was going to the mall. Casual can work but it is all about execution. Gossip Girl’s Ed Westwick looked laid back and dashing in Lacoste. The Sisterhood stars were all smiles and looked darling. Catch the girls in the film, August 6th!

“Do, Do You Got A First Aid Kit,” for her face! This Danity Kane singer is always wearing to much makeup and not enough clothes. Aubrey O’Day used to look good, but she has really been a tranny mess of late.

Amy Winehouse used to be such a cute innocent girl from England. She used to dress well, and fairly conservative too. Now she is a cracked out drug and alcohol abuser who spends more time “powdering her nose” than getting dressed (if she event puts clothes on).

She started out as a “Heroine Chic” hipster forerunner. Now Cory Kennedy is just a heroine user who just blends in with all the Williamsburg hipsters. She has become surprisingly unoriginal, and could seriously use a shower.

I can’t stand the fact that Rihanna is tricking the impressionable minds of the American youth that leather leggings are fashionable. We give her props for trying to support smaller indie designers, but when you look like that you’re almost giving them a bad rep. Let us not forget that week span where she was photographed wearing the same outfit everyday.

What did we really expect from the offspring of a professional wrestler and 2008′s cougar of the year. I think it is safe to say Brooke Hogan doesn’t know best.

We live in a decade where twelve year old girls are supposed to look eighteen, and well it’s no fun when you actually look twelve. Can someone say stylist?

When you are following in the footsteps of Cory Kennedy (who is already on this list), what did you expect? You are a wannbe hipster who spends your C-list celebrity paycheck on coke and alcohol. Oh and the OC wasn’t even that good! Guess this is what happens when you have to go back to shopping at Urban Outfitters because your career is over.

This Canadian punk wannabe, Avril Lavigne, should be deported immediately. The pink, black and white color scheme was done years ago, right along with pink streaks in your hair. You tour is doing terrible and so is your stylist.

Sam looks decent for a guy, but still not even that good. We are over the whole fedora and high top sneakers everyday. I would pay to see her in a dress, but I guess one of them had to be the man of the relationship, and it seems like Lindsay wouldn’t give in.

Since her boy toy Spencer came out and said how he gets paid to go places and gets all this free stuff, we can’t help but think that the disgusting clothes Heidi wears were free. Heidi is exactly what fashion shouldn’t be. Her style is terrible and as fake as her chest…and nose…and hair color…and reality show!

Well Tila Tequila does dress right for the job of being the biggest MySpace whore of all time. She is the only one with bad enough style that both guys and girls don’t want to date her.

This self proclaimed “trendsetter” couldn’t be any further from that in my eyes. When you show up to red carpet events in graduation gowns and turbans claiming to be fashionable you know you have a problem. You know you aren’t looking so good when every other poorly dressed person on this list is complimenting you, and every one on the best dressed list is laughing at you from a distance. I will say his best accessory is his little “mushroom cut” rocking friend Anna Wintour, but only because it dumbs down his awfulness. Fashion should be different and outlandish at the time, but practical at the same time. Andre doesn’t have that.

Plaid is back! From flannels to chic coats, the pattern is a fall staple. Lately, the trend has been everywhere! Plaid summer bags, skirts and bathing suits are dominating the beaches.

Gossip Girl’s, Ed Westwick has paid homage to his character, by launching his own line, that embraces Chuck Bass’s style. Moreover, Westwick’s collection will be primarily plaid pieces, inspired by Gossip Girl’s private school chic style.

Another designer notorious for his plaid inspiration is Alexander McQueen. No one will ever forget SJP’s quirky tartan gown, courtesy of Mr. McQueen. He has always loved the Scottish inspired print and we are finally catching on.

That’s right, Fashionista has reported the rumor that Ed would like a creative output…For those who like his style on Gossip Girl, the line is supposedly going to mimic that. Maybe a collaboration with a certain designer is in store? Guess we’ll see, actually really looking forward to this, I love his preppy bad boy look…
