Take a Relentlessly Cute Flight on Air Hello Kitty, the Azealia Banks-Nicki Minaj Met Gala Confusion and Jessica Simpson Delivers

Edited by

American Apparel continues to lose money while pervy CEO Dov Charney continues to rake it in with a $10 million paycheck. As the saying goes, you get what you pay for. And for AA, that’s apparently herpes. [The Cut]

- Taiwan’s Eva Airlines allows you to fly in style, that is if you have the style of a 13-year-old Japanese schoolgirl. Eva’s line of Hello Kitty-branded airplanes is basically JetBlue on a potent combination of acid, ketamine and adorable. [Buzzfeed]

Abercrombie’s Cruel & Unusual Punishment, Jessica Simpson Bares Baby Body for Elle and Chanel’s Kid Play

Edited by

Lana del Rey was allegedly caught in the middle of a photoshoot for Versace. But seeing as there is nary a heel nor a cut-out present, I’m not, much like Lana del Rey’s music, buying it. [ONTD!]

Abercrombie & Fitch employees are apparently forced to do push-ups and squats as punishment, which seems excessive since breathing in that tonic water they call cologne on a daily basis is punishment enough. [Huff Po]

- Damn you, Demi Moore, do you know what you hath wrought? Jessica Simpson is the latest, but certainly not the last, starlet to jump on the exposed and expecting bandwagon, as she bares her belly for the April issue of Elle. [Elle]

- The Irish are apparently offended by Urban OutfittersSt. Patrick’s Day merch, claiming they’re “only fueling stereotypes that many Irish Americans, as well as the people of Ireland, work so hard to dispel.” How hard are we talking here? [Styleite]

#NYFW Cheat Sheet: Tommy Hilfiger AW12

Edited by

Looking around the scene at Tommy Hilfiger’s fall 2012 runway show I thought I had mistakenly wandered into an English garden. Vines of ivy twisted their way along brick columns and trees fully in bloom sat in their own separate little fields. If not for the giant catwalk winding around those fields, I would’ve expected a tea party to commence at any second. From this setting I also expected very light, dainty, ladylike fare – but from the first look it was apparent that the house that Tommy built was not serving tea. A thread of military dressing ran through the collection, centered heavily on coats in shearling, bonded leather and Melton wool. Dresses in silk suggested a ladylike quality, but this lady’s ready to face the ravages of fall and stare it down till the spring.

IndieNewsroom: Madonna’s New Album Cover…Blake Lively Wants Tranny Kids…Ellen Writes a Check to MObama Her Pecs Can’t Cash

Edited by

- Madonna is back in a big way. In addition to a new film (that may or may not be awful), a Super Bowl halftime performance this weekend (that may or may not feature an exposed nipple) and a video with Nicki Minaj and M.I.A. that debuts tonight during American Idol (that may or may not involve a threesome), the Queen of Pop also has a new album coming out called MDNA. And this is the cover. I’m getting a little Breathless Mahoney. [Paper]

International Fashion Weeks: Waste of Time or Next Frontier?

Edited by

Glenda Bailey‘s not going to go to Richmond, VA, fashion week.” This quote from CFDA CEO Steven Kolb basically sums up the fashion industry’s attitude when it comes to fashion weeks outside of the big four: New York, London, Paris and Milan. Fashion is elitist, with the haves being vastly outweighed by the have-nots. A small cadre of editors, designers, photographers, stylists and — most importantly — businessmen control this billion dollar industry, but the cracks are beginning to appear in the facade. Milan’s breaking rank and challenging the fashion week calendar and in response Condé Nast has vowed that no Vogue editors will be in attendance should Milan continue its catwalk of impertinence. China is outspending both America and Europe in the luxury sector and many brands are opening stores in the Far East to meet this ever-expanding market. Then there are the some 100 other fashion weeks around the world, showcasing local young, up-and-coming and often, rather talented designers who, while not garnering the attention of Harper’s Bazaar‘s esteemed editrix in chief, are contributing to their own cities’ and countries’ burgeoning fashion industries.

Michelle Williams Keeps Her Hair Short in Memoriam

Edited by

“Of course, the only people who like it are gay men and my girlfriends. Straight men across the board are not into this hair!” Michelle Williams reveals in the December issue of Elle UK. Well, sister you got that right. Give me a Mia Farrow pixie cut any day of the week and twice on Sunday. But why, then, does she keep her man-repeller coiffure? “I cut it for the one straight man who has ever liked short hair and I wear it in memorial of somebody who really loved it.”
