Actress, rising style star and noted girl crush Emma Watson gets back in the Lancôme saddle, fronting the new campaign for the cosmetic giant’s “Rouge in Love” collection, shot by Mario Testino.

In a pose strikingly similar to her July Vogue cover, also shot by Testino, Watson nevertheless looks fresh and fabulous. But more than just a pretty face, the enterprising Watson also provided her own input on the “Rouge in Love” line’s 24 shades, which will be hitting stores in February. [Telegraph]

I don’t think I’ve ever noticed how much Justin Bieber and Emma Watson look alike. I mean, they could be sisters! Justin, naturally, would be the prettier, younger sister while Emma would be the brains of the family. But the reason for their slightly disturbing visual similarities surely rests in their treasured locks, which have both gained praise from The Wall Street Journal as the most influential haircuts of 2011, proving that ladies and lesbians the world over love a short crop.

According to WSJ, “hairstylists are being inundated with requests for pixie cuts and the Bieber swish. The enthusiasm plays out online, where the fastest-rising searches for celebrity haircuts on Google are for Ms. Watson and Mr. Bieber.” Is that what the Bieber swish is? And here I thought that was a derogatory term for the way he walked. Either way, here’s hoping that the two trendsetters are never romantically-linked since it would be perhaps the creepiest celebrity coupling since Bradley Cooper and…well, anyone. [WSJ]

Christian Dior tried to rebound from a potential PR nightmare, to varying degrees of success. Diffusion lines easily out-shined their designer homes. An editrix reinvented herself amidst a sea of rumors without losing a beat. And underaged fashionistas grew up in front of our very eyes. Here are our picks for the 25 most memorable and stylish moments of 2011.

25. Beyoncé at the VMAs How does an internationally-renowned pop diva announce her alleged pregnancy with as little -- and yet as much -- fanfare as possible? Why in Lanvin and Dolce and Gabbana, of course. Cupping her burgeoning baby bump on the red carpet, Bey let loose the dogs of publicity war when she thew her mic to the ground, ripped open her Dolce jacket, and announced to the world the coming of the Messiah.

Besides, of course, whether Marc himself would defect to Christian Dior or stick it out with Louis Vuitton -- who, coincidentally, was also a victim of theft just two weeks later. Yep, big coincidence.

9. Kate Moss' fairytale wedding It was only a few years ago that Kate Moss was spiraling down a cocaine-encrusted rabbit hole, but fashion's favorite bad girl has finally settled down. Moss wed longtime beau Jamie Hince in an epic three-day long ceremony known cheekily as Mosstock. BFF Naomi Campbell was one of her bridesmaids, and in a show of solidarity, Moss chose a wedding dress by John Galliano. Kate Moss' wedding was not only front-page news, it garnered the most coveted cover of the year: Vogue's September issue.

8. Bill Cunningham New York Originating and perfecting the art of streetstyle photography decades before The Sartorialist picked up a camera, Bill Cunningham finally got his time in the spotlight thanks to a heartwarming documentary that reveled a little of the man behind that ubiquitous lens.

A true lover of fashion, West did his research and worked with the best people but in the end he let his usual over-zealousness get the best of him and the result? If that weren't enough of a moment, these two gals also shattered boundaries in fashion and modeling, and in the process became icons and role models to the LGBTQ community.

4. The reinvention of Carine Roitfeld Quele scandale! Did she get fired? Did she quit? Are she and Emmanuelle Alt no longer friends? The rumors have been buzzing around Carine Roitfeld since she officially exiting Vogue Paris in February -- and in the process creating a future supermodel in Saskia de Brauw -- after 10 landmark, nipple-bearing years. But through it all, Carine has been the picture of calm and chic, hiking up her pencil skirt and reinventing herself as a brilliant and in-demand stylist/the coolest bitch on the planet. Stay tuned for another reinvention when Carine launches a new magazine and starts life as a grandmother next year.

3. Kate Middleton's Alexander McQueen wedding dress The speculation was unbearable for what was the biggest and most well-kept secret in an age of superfluous information. Though an unsurprising but nevertheless brilliant choice, Sarah Burton's handiwork cemented the Duchess of Cambridge (née Kate Middleton) as not only a bona fide style icon but a phenomenon on both sides of the Atlantic. Meanwhile, Burton proved she was the right person to carry on McQueen's brilliant legacy and take it to the next level.

Alexander McQueen's Savage Beauty The most successful fashion exhibit in the Metropolitan Museum of Art's history, Alexander McQueen's Savage Beauty set records and inspired fashion lovers and neophytes alike. The exhibit proved so popular, in fact, the Met extended its run twice. Even then, there were still lines of people waiting hours to get into the museum, but for 661,509 people it was well-worth the wait.

John Galliano stars in Gallianogate John Galliano's downfall has loomed large all year, particularly since Christian Dior has yet to announce his replacement, despite a neverending back-and-forth with a stubborn Marc Jacobs. Following a stint in rehab, a guilty conviction in Paris for making anti-Semitic remarks, and the general destruction of his reputation, Galliano at least had one bright spot this year: designing good friend Kate Moss' wedding dress. Galliano's dismissal also raised questions about the stress designers are under to deliver multiple collections a year -- just ask Balmain's Christophe Decarnin. Everyone's still waiting to see who Dior picks to take the throne and if Galliano can make a comeback after such a devastating fall. As 2011 comes to a close, 2012 has the promise of even more scandals, breakdowns and breakthroughs that we cannot wait to cover obsessively for you. Emma Watson explores her dark side for Harper’s Bazaar UK as the August cover girl. The Harry Potter star looks positively witchy in an Emilio Pucci dress from his Fall/Winter 2011.12 collection. The cover and spread played with dark and light pallets, and was photographed by Alexi Lubomirski. In her interview she talked about her plans to study abroad this year, and discussed her views on fashion. “It can be savage,” she says, “and cruel, in that it’s prescriptive — you have to look a certain way and fit a certain mould — but also in the way it’s made.” She certainly looks savage in this new spread. Our indie crush of the week has totes been the drop dead stunning Emma Watson. For the past decade she’s always pleasantly surprised as she morphs in and out of Hermione Granger to become a Lady. But let us not forget the bushy haired, buck toothed bookworm that took her to the stratospheric level she’s at today. Today our retrospective reflects on her dorky alter-ego, that ultimately *spoiler* saves the world. We know Harry and Ron wouldn’t last 5 minutes without her. And the movies wouldn’t have lasted five minutes without her if she had actually dropped out after Goblet of Fire to get “an education”.

Pottermore: The Most Fashionable (?) Harry Potter Website with NEW Original Content from J.K. Rowling

Muggles, the time has come. The Scottish Book, or rather the Harry Potter encyclopedia J.K. Rowling teased us with for years, is becoming a reality. Only it won’t be a book at all. It’ll be a fully interactive online playground called Pottermore, where she’ll post new (NEW!) original stories about the backstories and future stories of the rest of the characters in Harry Potter World. How is this fashionable you ask? Well, you’ll get to virtually go to Diagon Alley and Hogsmeade, where presumably you’ll get to virtually shop. And if Madame Malkins Robes for All Occasions isn’t fashion, Merlin’s beard, I don’t know what is. Oh, and Emma Watson aka Hermione Granger is werqing it on the cover of Vogue. Fashion. Bam! Inside, she talks about her life after Harry Potter, and isn’t that just what Pottermore is?

The average muggle can enjoy the website come October, but if you’re a super fan (presumably with time to kill) you may get to go in early, VIP if you will. Jo will put you to work to help shape the site and the experience for the rest of us.

So, we wait with bated breath for the coming of Pottermore, where we’ll get to know everything. We’ll even get to buy new digital versions of the books that allow us to explore the world three dimensionally.

Thank Ron there is more Harry Potter coming from Jo, because if The Deathly Hallows Part 2 were really the last of it, I’d be stupefied. Seven books and eight movies is clearly not enough.

Emma Watson STUNS in Vogue

If you’re surprised Vogue has an amazing cover two months in a row (because I certainly am), you should not be surprised that the gorgeous and talented Emma Watson is the face that made it possible. At age 21, she has reached the end of the extraordinary Harry Potter series and is a bona fide fashion plate. See all the photos, shot by Mario Testino, and highlights from the interview after the jump.

On her professional relationship with Harry Potter co-star Daniel Radcliffe: “He understood what his role was, not just as an actor but as the leading man in this enormous franchise,” Watson said. “And I think that was almost more important in a way. He held it all together. I am very grateful for him.”

On getting an education during filming: “I have felt for the last ten years I have had this battle; I’ve been fighting so hard to have an education, she said. “It’s been this uphill struggle. I was Warner Bros.’ pain in the butt. I was their scheduling conflict. I was the one who made life difficult.”

About taking on new roles in film: “Hermione is so close to who I am as a person that I’ve never really had to research a role,” she says. “I’m literally rediscovering what it means to be an actress.”

RED CARPET REPORT CARD: Best, Worst & Most Boring at the 2011 MTV Movie Awards

Last night, celebrities gathered on the red carpet for the 2011 MTV Movie Awards. Unless you’re a diehard Twilight fan or think Reese Witherspoon is a “remarkable” actress, you probably a.) did not watch the awards or b.) were bored to death by the show. No matter how noteworthy or pointless an event may be, we will always care about the fashion. In this edition of Red Carpet Report Card, we will explore the best, worst and most snore-worthy looks at the 2011 MTV Movie Awards.

DISCLAIMER: Keep in mind this was certainly not the fashion event of the year, so I graded on a curve based on what I had to work with.

Here are the BEST DRESSED of the MTV Movie Awards, the star students of the night scoring As and Bs on their style report cards.

Elle Fanning in D&G Spring 2011 – I want to adopt Elle as my own first born child - she is so adorable. I love this floral romper with the floral wedges. Where else and on who can an overload of prints work this well?

Leighton Meester in Balmain Fall 2011 – Although she makes a lot of mistakes and does poorly in style school sometimes, I still stand by Leighton. She looks perfect in this bling-encrusted Balmain dress. I’m glad to see her at the top of the list for once.

Emma Stone in Bottega Veneta Fall 2011 – Congratulations Emma for finally making my best dressed list! She looks phenomenal with her red-again hair in this golden, lacy frock. The orange accessories are PERFECT.

Hailee Steinfeld in Louis Vuitton – Many think Hailee looks too old in this sequin-adorned Louis Vuitton suit, but I think she looks youthful and chic. Unfortunately, I hate the shirt she is wearing underneath and wish she would have chosen something brighter and not so stiff.

Lil Mama in Sherri Hill Fall 2011 – This little lady sometimes tries too hard and ends up looking completely ridiculous on the red carpet. But Lil Mama got it right this time in a perfectly-fitting strapless mini dress. She is put-together and sexy without looking ridiculous.

Emma Watson in Marchesa - I thought this look was a little safe for Emma, but it grew on me as I looked through all the red carpet photos from last night. It’s difficult to pull-off a stark white dress and even more so if it’s this short. This is a great feminine look with the added edge of the Brian Atwood pumps.

On to the MOST BORING looks of the night. The Cs of the red carpet, these ladies could have tried a lot harder.

Rosie Huntington-Whiteley in Dolce & Gabbana Fall 2011 - I usually LOVE animal print, so I’m surprised I’m not phased by this. But a short animal print dress with the half-up, half-down hair? Ehhh I need something more from a gorgeous gal like Rosie. It would have made a huge difference if the dress was left longer like it was shown on the runway.

Blake Lively in Michael Kors - If Blake was going to a sophisticated fashion event, this would be an A++. But for an MTV awards show? Where is the insane Chanel Couture that could be blowing all these tartlets out of the water? If you have the access, use it!

Reese Witherspoon in Zac Posen Pre-Fall 2011 – Snore. Snoring at the hair, the dress, the shoes. Snoring at you Reese Witherspoon, who has been doing so well and just had to go and disappoint when you were receiving the post “prestigious” MTV Movie Award possible.

Selena Gomez in Giambattista Valli Spring 2011 – Talk about looking too old. Fit for a grandmother, this ensemble is just too tedious for MTV. Selena wowed us at the Billboards and must be tired because she is not at work.

Here we are ladies and gentlemen, the WORST DRESSED of the MTV Movie Awards. These ladies receive Ds and Fs for their detestable fashion sense.

Jessica Szohr in Alice + Olivia Fall 2011 – AHHHH!! This is a paisley nightmare! Hide your kids, hide your wife because this is the scariest clown I’ve ever seen. Perfect example of how an awesome runway piece looks like shit in real life. Look at Jessica’s face, she’s as horrified as we are.

Kristen Stewart in Balmain - Someone finally managed to look like a hooker in Balmain. Kristen Stewart continues to neglect her fashion studies in this too short, terribly styled studded and safety pinned number. The hair is bad, the shoes are wrong and she is not working this dress the way it needs to be worked.

Mila Kunis in Balmain Fall 2011 – Poor Balmain, so much drama as of late. I am obsessed with this skirt, but what in god’s name was Mila wearing on top? It looks like she was half changed into her pajamas, someone rang the doorbell and she had to walk outside like this. Justin’s hands would be a more fashionable choice.

Amanda Bynes in Hervé Léger – Congratulations Amanda for winning the WORST DRESSED award by a landslide. Not only does this dress make her look saggy all around, but she chose the ugliest shoes Christian Louboutin has ever designed. Tan, turquoise, black, white – it’s a rainbow of disaster on the red carpet.

- In the wake of the disaster in Japan (you know, the whole country ceasing to exist and everything) Uniqlo‘s parent company Fast Retailing will donate 1.4 billion yen ($300 million…it sounds more impressive in yen) to organizations aiding the crisis and 700 million yen in clothing. It’s nice when fashion reveals a heart beneath all the loathing. [Racked]

- Tyra Banks on wowing the Ivy League: “…it’s like, well, oh my God, why is a model going to Harvard? But that’s actually a good thing, because when people have low expectations, you’re just constantly going, ‘Ta-da!’ And they’re like, ‘Wow.’ It doesn’t take a lot to wow them when they have low expectations.” That should, like, totally, be Harvard’s new motto! - Emma Watson is slowly taking over the fashion world. First she created a green capsule collection for Alberta Ferretti and now it’s been announced that she’s the newest face for Lancôme. - Kate Moss’s 90-minute commercial for Dior’s new Addict lipstick (an unfortunate name considering their former creative director is currently in rehab) shot by Jonas Åkerlund and featuring music by Duran Duran. - And we get to see a completely different side of La Moss with her short for Comic Relief where she gets drunk and goes all Fatal Attraction on a teddy bear. 5 bucks this version is more true to life than the Dior ad. [Telegraph]

- For the record, Daphne Guinness does not think Victoria Beckham is an “ugly pig” who “annoys the shit” out of her. She just thinks she couldn’t walk a mile in her 10-inch tranny platforms without the help of a backer. [Fashionista]

- Crystal Renn gets to werq in Marni while hanging a fashionable ten with a Chanel surfboard for the first in the week-long editorial project, Crystal Renn: Identity. For “Surfer,” her identity was apparently Gidget on acid. [Stylecaster]

Blake Lively is moving up in the ranks of the world right before our very eyes. I’m still getting over the shock of His Lagership naming her the official spokesmodel of Chanel, but we’ve been thrown another doozy. In a survey by AskMen.com of over 5 million guys to rank the Top 99 Women of 2011 (bit soon, isn’t it?), Blake Lively ranked number 1. Yes, Serena van der Woodsen just scored first place. Who else made the list you ask…?

Ranked Second is none other than the voice of one of the ugliest girls on television, according to her father, Peter Griffin. Mila Kunis has stepped out from behind the voiceover and back into the spotlight to remind us why Ashton Kutcher‘s character got it on with her for so many years on That 70′s Show. Miss Black Swan understudy, you are number 2.

Numbero Tres is hands down the hottest mom on television. Sofia Vergara flaunts her assets, like that Colombian accent, on Modern Family once a week. Men are turning their TV on in droves every Wednesday night for at least a couple of large, well placed reasons.

The rest of the results may surprise you. Scarlett Johansson dropped to number 7, and men love her. I mean, have you seen, like, every other issue of GQ? Emma Watson ranked #17, which is amazing for a girl who’s just played Hermione Granger for a decade. And can you believe that Angelina Jolie didn’t even make the top 20? So, the Top 99 Women (of ?) have been judged. Men can still go on and decide whether these ladies deserve to be moved up or down on the list. Let’s see if anything changes.

Teen Vogue’s 50 Best Dressed of 2010

Teen Vogue named Alexa Chung the best dressed celebrity of 2010, followed by a series of questionable choices. Choices that raised questions like “Who let Katy Perry (#35) anywhere near a best-dressed list?” And “Who are half of these alleged celebrities?”

Lea Michele (#5), Kristin Stewart (#7) Taylor Swift (#8) and Olivia Palermo (#9) somehow all made the top 10. I know this is Teen Vogue, but let’s raise the bar a little and maybe swap ‘em out for Emma Watson (#16), Keira Knightley (#20), Chloë Sevigny (#18) and Freida Pinto (#21).

Though I will say that I am glad that Kelly Osborune (#25) made the list. She’s really come into her own style, plus I love her with Joan Rivers on E!’s Fashion Police. If only they would get rid of that damned orange skeleton, Giuliana Rancic.

Meanwhile, three out of four Gossip Girls made the top 50: Leighton Meester (#19) and Jessica Szohr (#32), however (non-teen) Vogue‘s Best Dressed cover girl Blake Lively has to settle for #23. Anna‘s other Angels, Anne Hathaway (#49) and Sienna Miler (who is apparently still considered a celebrity) bring up the rear.

The 20-year old actress (Hollywood’s highest paid, mind you) and Brown University undergrad wore a one-shouldered black velvet Vionnet dress paired with a dramatic earring and a sultry lip. I love a dangling earring against a pixie cut.

News has surfaced that Emma may have had an ulterior motive in cutting her hair, besides being trendy. The Sun reported that she is screen testing for the lead role in the upcoming The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo movie. Read more…

An anonymous source told The Sun that Emma has already auditioned with director David Fincher for the part of Lisbeth Salander, a goth like troubled character with spiky dark hair.

If she gets the role, she will end up in some outrageous sex scenes with men and women, including a graphic and violent bedroom scene, at least that’s how the character is in the original movie.

Emma Watson has made the metamorphosis from quirky child star to a young fashion icon.
SHe is currently the face of Burberry and has shot editorials for the world's most renowned fashion magazines.

Now, Emma Watson stars in a Vanity Fair editorial shot by photographer Patrick Demarchelier. I have to say these are some of her most breathtaking photos ever. Ive always been a fan o Emma because she is one of the few child stars who has managed to translate fame a child into a tangible career as an adult. In other words she isn't the sort of woman that fills the pages of tabloids with sleazy scandals about trips to rehab and drunken parties.

It’s really hard for me to think of Emma Watson as a fashion designer mainly cause I tend to have naughty thoughts about her doing bad things to me with her Magic Wand, but here she is, designing organic basics and trying to get her groove back like Stella (McCartney).

While no major fashion updates were introduced in this collection, we do get to see what it would look like if Emma hosted an incredibly boring picnic. Love how no ones smiling, gotta appreciate those Brits for making even outdoor activities seem more depressing than death of Diana.

We’ve composed a list of the twenty five most stylish people we know under twenty five (well, a couple are “25″). Influences, creatives, or just plain crazy people, here’s Fashion Indie’s take on who to know, and who we wish we were as stylish as:

Celebrities-

Rihanna- Ri’s been really stepping it up lately. She’s got a wide range of looks, and is starting to find a world of her own when it comes to her style.

Lady Gaga- Everyone knows she’s crazy. Lady Gaga is definitely changing the views of fashion right now

Taylor Momsen- Are you surprised? You know we love her.

Emma Watson- The young HP actress is growing up! And looking hot at every event, if we do say so ourselves.

The Olsen Twins- They’ve been in the fashion eye for awhile now, and now that they’ve got some of their own lines, they always look awesome.

Zoe Kravitz- Lenny’s daughter! This teen has been making a lot of appearances lately, and looks good!

Models-

Chanel Iman- Our favorite model to follow on Twitter. Chanel is so adorable, and has really awesome style

Tallulah Morton- She’s all over the Cobra Snake (in a Cory Kennedy way), and always looking fly.

Cole Mohr- This is for you Kirby. Cole brought boyish and grunge to the fashion forefront, for models anyway. Plus he’s incredibly handsome, which definitely isn’t a bad thing.

Ethan James- Ethan is being seen more and more on the fashion scene (Milan fashion week, H & M, tons of editorial spreads), and has a similar look to Cole. I actually went to high school with this Ford model, and he’s been the most stylish guy I know since he was 15.

Jethro Cave- Pioneered the half-shaved head. LOVE those hanger tattoos.

Fashion Personalities and Party People-

Alexa Chung- Whether she’s dressed to kill or wearing denim cutoffs, Alexa Chung is always on top of her game.

Chloe Sevigny- Great designer, great style icon. I’m in love with her buckle booties, which she is seen wearing a lot, paired with skinny pants or cute dresses. Definitely a hipster style icon. We know she isn’t exactly under 25, but she’s been around for so long as a stylish designer to know, and like our moms, is one of those women that turn 25 every year for the rest of their lives.

Peaches Geldof- This social always looks gorgeous (as do all the Geldofs), for events or on the street with her fake fiance.

Aaron Kolfage- Fashion Indie’s favorite party host and dear friend, Aaron always looks fierce on Friday nights at Ruff Club. He dresses with such creativity, I haven’t seen anything like it anywhere else. This weekend, Aaron was wearing a giant tulle bowtie with a brooch in the middle, and I was mad jealous. Aaron gives us Midwesterners hope for being incredibly stylish, he’s from Michigan!

Fashion Bloggers-

Pelayo of Kate Loves Me – This guy, and his girlfriend, both have killer style. He wears some of the craziest things I’ve ever seen (including Louis Vuitton mesh tights!), and has perfectly coiffed hair at all times.

Lovisa The Intern- Lovisa Drever is all over Lookbook.nu, but I know her from Waffles + Falafels (who even briefly carried a shirt with her photo on it). She’s got a killer sense of style and can pull anything off, plus adds to the crazy personalities of W + F, who are some of my favorite people.

Six Six Sick Girls- These hosts and bloggers DIY matching outfits for their events, which include everything from red wigs to elbow gloves. They not only have a crazy (and matching) sense of DIY style, they also post some (literally) sick stuff on their blog.

Kirby Marzec- Fashion Indie’s own managing editor, Kirby not only knows everything about every designer, and what’s going to be hot next season, but she also isn’t afraid to pull it off. Whether it’s drop (to the knee) crotch pants, DIY ripped tees, or metal vests, you can be assured that Kirby will wear it, and she’ll wear it damn well.

Jazzi McG- We had a half hour long talk the other day about how much we love Jazzi’s blog, and her style. A queen of DIYing and always dressed perfectly for the occasion, she’s definitely one to watch.

Tavi of Style Rookie- Tavi is no rookie, maybe in the way that ‘Rookie of the Year’ becomes a professional baseball player, Tavi dresses better than some veterans of fashion.

Camille of Childhood Flames- Another not-even-legal fashion blogger showing that you don’t have to have a career to be fashionable, this sixteen year old is a pro at mixing designer goods with things we can afford, and is also taking advantage of the DIY world.

Lucas Logan- This 18-year-old from LA is all over the internet, model/blogger (Stylish Kids In Riot)/designer, Lucas is California’s newest ‘It’ Kid, braces and all.

Musicians-

Uffie- I mean look at her, in.sane.

The Veronicas- I’ve followed The Veronicas since I was in high school, and their style has definitely evolved into rocker chic. They always look good separately, and even better together, on stage or off, and aren’t afraid to take risks.
