“I think in America that sort of disheveled, gritty look seems dirty — like someone who just doesn’t give a fuck — and it’s not like that. My idea of what is sexy is not the typical idea of American sexy.” (more…)

CommentsThe model, stylist and designer of RVCA chats with Shopbop.com about her holiday wishes and caviar dreams. I didn’t realize she was such a homebody…hm!
What’s on your holiday wish list? I want a Columbia electronic dictionary.
How will you be spending New Year’s Eve? I will be spending New Year’s very quietly at an unknown destination. Low key – no parties, no clubs, no hangover!

CommentsI’ve never sat back and said, “Ugh, I wish I had her life,” but this photo is a perfect example of why I idolize Erin Wasson. Fur, gladiators, piled on jewelry, biker shorts, wind-blown hair- God, style after my own heart!

“There are so many young girls that get tied into this old, super-glammed up look because it’s safe. I look at girls like Megan Fox and think, God, you’re not 35. Come on. Have fun! It’s the people that make those lists that I’m most interested in, because they are wearing something that’s thought-provoking.”

It’s safe to say that an established model knows fashion just as well as an established designer. Model Erin Wasson decided to pair her expertise in both genres for her design debut with Erin Wasson x RVCA Spring 2010 collection. Having seen Miss Wasson amongst the thousands at Opening Ceremony on Fashion’s Night Out, the collection is very much her personal style translated to the runway. It’s grungy. It’s vintage. It’s downtown. It’s everything you’d expect a model to stroll through the streets of Soho wearing. Loving the gauzy, top/pant set as well as the hole-ridden, oversized top!

Runway coach Drew Linehan once compared me to Erin Wasson and holding true to that statement was my Erin-esque outfit choice for the day. Just as I rocked several thrift store finds (including my $0.49 1990’s Lamborghini tank top), Erin Wasson flawlessly pulled off her 90’s inspired garb at the Opening Ceremony Tokyo launch.

Recently Erin Wasson has been doing alot of PR work. She’s successfully transformed from model to mogul a la Kate Moss and this Pinko campaign plays on her new larger then life personality. Erin looks right at home posing in front of her huge likeness, not surprising since the clothes are totally Erin’s style: leather, studs and sequins.
