These Eryn Brinié & Kai-aakmann Collections (Almost) Make Me Wish For Fall

The first thing I thought when I walked into the Eryn Brinié and Kai-aakmann preview at The Ace Hotel was “this is the outerwear I want for fall.” And although I want spring and summer to last a lifetime, we have something good to look forward too once the wind turns chilly again. Kai-aakmann showed fall 2011 collections for both men and women, boasting tons of leather, shearling, lightweight knitwear and borderline-sheer shirts. A matching bomber jacket for men and women was a key item and looked amazing on anyone who put it on. Eryn Brinié’s womenswear fall 2011 collection was graceful and pretty, incorporating classic silhouettes with modern design details. Grecian-inspired draping was combined with big shoulders on dresses and blouses, creating a strong, ladylike silhouette. Outwear was military-inspired, including forest green parkas and double-breasted wool coats. Click through to see photos from the preview and highlights from both collections’ lookbooks.

‘Expo 2010′ A Benefit Fashion Show By NYU Students

Last Friday, the Fashion Indie crew attended the benefit fashion show “EXPO 2010″ at New York University. For the second consecutive year, EXPO will be donating all proceeds to Room to Read, an organization which provides children in developing countries with libraries and the funding necessary to receive a quality education.

Korean designer Eryn Brinié is inspired by French-chic and the urban spirit. Her collections merge the  natural with what is modern. Eryn Brinié’s style is a representation of a trend, yet never seems to loose it’s touch of practicality and subtleness. The soft colors and delicate approach makes the collection sophisticated and ultra feminine. Eryn Brinié represents a woman who is warm hearted and sensible, yet possesses a slight artistic flair inside. Lucky for us, she is moving her store to SOHO.
