ADDICT Eva Mendes, Jaimie Dornan for Calvin Klein by Steven Klein

I’m only interested in Eva Mendes when she’s not attempting to act. Seriously, Eva, just focus on doing whatever it is your doing in these ads and leave the acting to the Jolie’s and Hathaway’s of the world, your attempt at being whatever it is your trying to be (my guess is a respected actor, but someone who makes bank at the cinema is another noble cause) isn’t happening, cause you can’t act chica, you really, really, really, really, really suck huevos at it.

MOMENTS OF STYLE: Parsons Fashion Benefit

It’s always interesting to see how certain runway pieces translate into event outfits, especially when they are worn by real life women instead of models. I also love that some pieces are altered to be more ‘ready to wear’ which gives them more life, although I must admit that it’s not fair that celebs get to wear collections not yet available for me to purchase.

WTF!?! Eva Mendes #fashionfail

I want to think she was just trying to stay incognito while sightseeing in Rome. Eva Mendes looks horrendously grandmotherly in an ill-fitting floral dress, brown boots, and a flesh-colored bag.
INO.

Eva Bares All for Manhattan
We knew that Eva Mendes was the model for Calvin Klein when billboards were released, where she was strewn across the massive ad almost completely naked. Well, I guess the eager desire for more quickly penetrated the execs because a mere one week later, the billboard of Eva, in a sheer bra, was replaced by the one above. Making some smart decisions, they decided to add a perfume onto the scene. No confusion about what to purchase anymore!

Eva Mendes Banned From YouTube

Eva Mendes for Calvin Klein Secret Obsession was rejected by all major American television networks for being too suggestive earlier this Summer. The clip did manage to become a YouTube sensation, but has now been removed from the Web site, who claims the footage “It has been removed due to terms of use violation.”
Click here to view the controversial ad.
The funny thing is, there was barely a nipple slip in the video, nothing we haven’t seen before on youtube. Seriously, you can find videos on there of people choking each other, pretending to commit suicide (or actual suicide from ‘Face of Death’), and all sorts of violence, but a nipple is forbidden? Come on!!!
Thanks PopCrunch for the news.

Faster Pussycat Kill, Kill
With rumors swirling that Quentin Tarantino will be remaking the cult classic Faster Pussycat, Kill, Kill I thought I would dedicate a post to the awesome style of the original movie.
The rumored cast is said to be anyone and everyone from Britney Spears, Eva Mendes, and porn-star Tera Patrick. If this remake ever does make it to the screen it will either be the greatest thing ever or a huge steaming pile of crap.
What Britney’s costume might look like….

Eva Mendes Nip Slip = Greatest Viral Campaign Ever!!!
Oh, Calvin Klein. Like you didn’t know that Eva Mendes’ nip slip wouldn’t cause controversy!!! You sneaky devils. You knew all us bloggers would write about it giving you a ton of free publicity. Great job on getting us all on board. You just saved a shit load on buying TV air time and will probably get just amount of coverage on your Youtube video…
Come to think about it. That’s a great idea. I’m working on a commercial right this second that will feature gratuitous balledge from yours truly. Then I’m gonna try to get it on TV. Write a press release when it’s banned. Post it on YouTube. And make my video viral.
Oh joy for Youtube.

Baggy Clothes=Knocked Up
Eva Longoria-Parker, not pregnant-just dresses like it
Ever since empire dresses and tent dresses became all the rage every celebrity has become ‘pregnant’. The gossip rags love calling every celeb who dresses in this of-the-moment-trend as knocked up. The latest celebrity to have a non-existent-bun-in-the-oven is Eva Longoria-Parker (I believe this is her 12th pregnancy in two years). She was photographed wearing an empire waisted dress over a black t-shirt, which means she is of course with child. Thankfully her stylist/celeb-personality Robert Verdi came to her rescue assuring us all she is not, by revealing some interesting facts about the stylist-client relationship:
“Eva is not pregnant! I’m not her gynecologist, but I am her stylist,” he explained. “I see her naked. I see her boobs! That’s the first place it would show, and it’s not showing!”
To recap what we’ve learned today. Stylist’s can tell many things about you, because they see you naked. And even though they are gay and don’t swing that way, they will defend your honor by telling publications that they freely see you naked. But let’s never forget that a stylist is not the same thing as a gyno. Thank you Robert Verdi!
Eva Mendes also not eating for two
I must say I don’t really get the whole empire/tent dress trend. Who wants to look pregnant if they’re not?

The Supermodels Are Back
Amber Valletta in the Dsquared campaign.
Christy Turlington in her second Escada campaign.
Eva Herzigova in the Louis Vuitton campaign.
Claudia Schiffer in Chanel
Although celebrities have hijacked hordes of fashion ads in recent years, Nineties-era supermodels — displaying formidable powers of longevity — have returned with a vengeance in many of fall’s fashion campaigns. Even Marc Jacobs is going back to using models for his Fall campaign.
That Linda Evangelista is starring in Prada, Naomi Campbell in Yves Saint Laurent, Claudia Schiffer in Chanel and Salvatore Ferragamo, Eva Herzigova in Louis Vuitton and Christy Turlington in Escada suggests these industry thoroughbreds remain as bankable and fascinating as Hollywood’s best beauties.
Kate Moss
Gisele Bündchen
Raquel Zimmermann
In fact, models in general — from newbies to veterans — dominate the lion’s share of European designer campaigns for next season, from Daria Werbowy in Christian Dior and Raquel Zimmerman in Fendi to Angela Lindvall in Jimmy Choo and Kate Moss in Stella McCartney. Notable exceptions to the celebrity-free ad zone include Charlotte Gainsbourg for Balenciaga and Vanessa Paradis for Miu Miu — while many American brands also are sticking to the celeb road, such as Calvin Klein’s multiple use of Eva Mendes.

Donatella Versace credits her late brother Gianni for fueling the supermodel phenomenon by sending all the top girls down the runway together in 1991.

“He made the models into celebrities as he understood that the more famous they became, the better it would be for him,” she said. “I don’t really make a distinction between working with celebrities and working with models as I think girls like Christy Turlington and, more recently, Kate Moss and Gisele [Bündchen] are celebrities, just as well-known as many actors and musicians.”

Eva Mendes for Calvin Klein
Yes, I know everyone is talking about it, but I wanted to put my two cents in too. Straight out of rehab and into the ads of Calvin Klein, Eva Mendes is the newest anticipated celeb to do a fragrance ad. One of the most beautiful actresses in the industry, and fellow hispanical, Eva is powerful and very sexy. From provocative to just plain nude, it seems as though she’s always a conversation started.
It makes me mad that when models take off their clothes in ads it’s normal, but when this beauty did it, it started controversy. Oh well, I guess that just comes with the territory.
