A friend to one of America’s biggest fame whores shares some concerns about the mother of eight. But I can’t imagine too many people are sharing the sympathy. Gosselin’s friend spoke to Radar Online and revealed that “Kate is really sad and lonely with few true friends.” It appears that the mother’s only true confidant is her body guard, Steve Neild. The interview with Radar Online doesn’t end before Kate’s friend gets the chance to add that “Even her kids have noticed their mom is sometimes too tired to play with them when the cameras are not rolling.” So basically Kate only acts like the perfect mother when the cameras are rolling. As if we didn’t suspect this already.

Last night Becks headed to girls night with a few of her Cleveland and local friendlies. Most of the night seemed to be a recap of our True Life episode, with me getting a nod for husband of the year (didn’t realize nodding and smiling constituted pro-husbandly duties, but I’ll take it), Becks getting award for “whiney” beotch of the year, and everyone overall bashing us for doing it.

To set the record straight, we did True Life cause we thought it would be fun. It was. Getting followed around for three months by a camera crew, staging scenarios, and going through the motions of actually caring about a subject you don’t really care about is pretty much the coolest job in the world. I have to give it up to The Hills girls for doing it without breaking a sweat, cause it’s a serious job with major responsibility.

Anyway, today, I received a few comments from someone suggesting that I’m desperate to be famous. While it isn’t the first time someone has said this about me, but it’s still kinda surprising. Seriously indies nothing could be further from the truth.

While I do enjoy doing things with MTV, The Travel Chanel, and other shows that will have my ugly mug on it, it’s not cause I’m desperate for fame or starved for attention, it’s that I’m an entrepreneur. You see those of us who run businesses don’t have bosses telling them they are doing a good job. We don’t get raises or promotions or little stars on our sticker sheets. We don’t get pats on the back and confirmation of our successes from upper management. All we get are complaints and problems to fix. Being on TV is my way of getting a little attention for my deeds. A little “Good Job Daniel” from the media monster that’s running this bitch. And if MTV or any other station wants to have me on, I’ll always say yes or at least consider an appearance.

Additionally, being on TV, talking to radio shows, giving speeches at schools, even occasionally writing on Fashion Indie is part of my job. That’s what I have to do. It’s my career. If I’m not on TV talking about Fashion Indie or making appearances who is. It’s not easy to run a company in this current marketplace and any publicity that helps increase site recognition or traffic is good publicity. Personally, I don’t like being on camera, I do it cause I have to.

Which is why it really makes me sad when people in the industry think I do this for my own personal visions of grandeur. I’m the most self-loathing person in this game and if I had to do a reality show, it would be while on a mega dose of Vicadin and botox shots in my forehead to prevent the nervous sweating. Seriously.

On another note, you might actually be seeing a lot more of my face out there. The business development team we are working with at Blackstar have just set us up to produce three television shows. Two are mobile based, the third is launching in Detroit and will hopefully go national. Either way, believe me when I say, I don’t love this shit, or crave it, I just do it cause I have too.
