Runway Rundown: Brooklyn Royalty
A full house came out to see Brooklyn Royalty premiere their Spring/Summer 09 collection at abeautiful hotel penthouse on 36th Street, as part of Fashion Indie Week Brooklyn. The event kicked off with some uniquely colored bathing suits, and it was all a hit from their. Bob Bland (founder of Brooklyn Royalty) created an amazing line that mixed hyper-color, metallic and neon’s with wonders. Bland, a self proclaimed menswear designer, proved it by creating a line that I am very excited to get my hands on. Her women’s wear was no joke either. Her in your face rocker attitude was seen in every look, right down to the amazing one-of-a-kind accessories. Compared to the current season, I must say this looks like a whole different designer. Fashion Indie has been friends with Bob for a long time, and it is amazing to see her grow as a designer. We loved the show, we loved the looks, and we wish all the best for you Bob/Brooklyn Royalty.
Thanks to HighSnobette for the pictures!
Fashion Indie Week Brooklyn: Love Brigade presents Ex Oh Spring 2009
The Brigaders premiered their newest collection Ex Oh by Love Brigade to a crowd of hungry, hungry hipsters. The lower priced line is perfect for all those who’ve been wanting to discover the Love, but who haven’t had to the cash to dish out on their premium goodies. We’re big fans of the Brigaders, so we’re just excited to finally be able to grab some of their pieces for our closets.

I Kissed An Italian Designer’s Ass And I Liked It!
Katy Perry must be kissing more than girls lately seeing as though she landed herself in the spotlight of Milan Fashion Week with Dolce & Gabbana. Apparently she is too good for Mercedes Fashion Week and Fashion Indie Week Brooklyn seeing as though she won’t be participating. She totally sold out on Fashion Indie and her friends at New York Couture by not performing at, what may be the largest event during Fashion Week, the New York Couture fashion show at Mansion! Now since we heard she flaked out on us, we have decided to replace her with a ton of other performers that you won’t want to miss so be sure to come. Until then can we please try to de-throne Katy from the number one song on the charts, lets be honest we’re all over that song.
New York Fashion Week Is Closing In Fast…Here’s The Schedule
Well Here it is. This is a week of pure madness for anyone in the fashion world. My best advice is to start working on your plan of attack now so you make sure you get to see all of your favorite designers. Don’t forget Fashion Indie Week Brooklyn overlaps this schedule too, so plan your trips to Brooklyn as well.
Thanks you Trendmill for spilling the beans on this one.

Big news Brooklyn based indies. Thanks in large part to our corporate sponsors (Smart Car, Berkeley College, Guru Energy Drink) we’ve been able to reduce our registration fees for Fashion Indie Week Brooklyn!!!

This is big news for the hundreds of boutiques and designers that have already registered but we’re apprehensive to put up the cash for our $500 registration fee. 15 Reasons Why Fashion Indie Week Brooklyn Is Going to Make Brooklyn Fashion Week{end} Seem Like the Sequel to Glitter
- Because 8 > 2.
- Because Fashion Indie rocks out harder than Amy Winehouse. We realize that might not be a good thing considering the emphysema thing but oxygen tanks are totally the next TrendSpark.
- Because our celebrity appearances will be better than Paulie Shore and the “Oh Face Guy” from Office Space.
- Because our models like to party. Like “Kate Moss” party, not “lame-ass second cousin who you never talk to who insists on inviting you to his graduation party” party.
- Because Fashion Indie encourages scenarios in which you wake up belligerent after a night of sake bombs with a used Durex in your hand laying next to that random chick you were eyeing on the runway the night before.
