There are a couple ways of getting yourself invited to these selective functions some of which are pretty obvious but it’s always good to know that these ways work. Keep reading to find out how to get those invites filling up your inbox.

From this collection you can tell that Thom abhors two things for Spring 2012: pants & sleeves.

I say this because it seems as if this collection is void of the two. He deconstructs the traditional suit jacket be removing the sleeves or not adding places for them in the first place. He also plays with suiting by chaining up proportions, lapels, and hem finishing.

A trend that seems to e emerging is skirts on men. Some designers such as Rick Owens have kept them a staple but it seems more mainstream designers are picking up on this pantless kick.

My favorite part of this show had to be the fringe. I don’t know who decided it was time for the flapper to return but it really works great and adds a flair that is seen in more womenswear that even menswear.

This collection does offer a slight variety of styles. There are a few options for the “average” man but mainly this collection is for someone who wants to be seen on the cutting edge of mens fashion.

Let’s first discus the set. The models walked out of what appeared to be large scaled Louis Vuitton trunks.

This collection was obviously crafted for the true prepster. Marc Jacobs and Paul Helber have out together a looks that any jetsetting mogul or trust fund baby to would gladly don.

One can see Marc’s hand in the designs when the printed looks come out since they look very similar to his Spring 2010 collection. The quilted jackets and bags were a different look for the label this season.

To be honest this collection underwhelmed. There seemed to be a lack of innovations and a disconnect in cohesion.  Besides the amazing set and some pieces this collection looks like anything you can find in your local department store.

And we’re not just waxing on because Chris is part of the Fashionista family. This collection is seriously, seriously good.

The preview took place in Chris’ eBay-furnished studio, which made it even better. (We especially love the racks of old fabric flower molds in the conference room, which Chris’ business partner Ashley scooped up after one of the garment district flower companies closed. It could be likened to an apothecary for fashion people.)

There was a gorgeous star printed dress, some pale seafoam green high-waisted pleated chinos, and plenty of cute shifts. The skirt of a long cream dress was made from pieces of delicate tulle, which was made to look like tweed from afar. Steff loved the knit cardigans with a keyhole in the back that was closed with a Swarovski crystal. An interiors fanatic, Chris often likes to start a collection by thinking about the woman who would live in a favorite designer’s world. This time around, he started with the work of mid century sculptor Sascha Brastoff, whose decorative ceramics were used this morning to house snacks and refreshments.

We also really loved the shoes, which were Brian Atwood with, of course, a touch of Chris Benz. He added the rope. Brilliant.
