For those of you who read my article about editing film (digital images) and how mind set dependent that is, you might find this article interesting. I am just in the process of casting for a Fashion Campaign and I stopped the process for a moment to think about the challenges of doing so and share some of my immediate impressions with you.

Yesterday we launched the debut of Boutique Critique; a column in which I’ll be discovering a new gem of a shop each week, and introducing it to you one outfit at a time over the course of five days. We began most literally with a shop called Début. Founded by Lisa Weiss in 2007, it features brand new designers in the very first runs of their collections. One of the first collections the boutique ever acquired was a jewelry collection called Experiment 101 by Esha Soni. The line caught Weiss and her team’s eye and was a perfect fit to introduce the store’s concept. Now on Experiment 109, and no longer featured in Début, Soni seemed to have gotten the start she needed to continue a beautifully successful brand. With that, here is the second look of the week from Début.

In a show that had Lady Gaga’s paw print cemented to the aesthetic, Nicola Formichetti insurrected Mugler with a visual feast. Gaga’s gave us a taste of her new single Government Hooker as she made her modeling debut, working her monstrous platforms better than many professional models worked their curvaceous heels. On the live stream (or the luckiest, in Paris) we watched the show in its entirety, with Gaga’s new song interspersed with a hopped up version of Born This Way. Now we can watch it in the concise manner the Creative Director envisioned it. Gagalicious video ahead.

Angelina Jolie wore head-to-toe Salvatore Ferragamo during the press junket of her new film The Tourist, held at the Hotel Meurice on Wednesday, December 1st in Paris. Looking good without your babiez girl.

James Franco wears many hats, all of them silly. Whether it’s acting in legit films, slumming it in soap operas for shits and giggles, posing in drag, or presenting penis art (…on his nose), he’ll do it all. His latest project? A postmodern, intensely intense analysis of Three’s Company.
