For this edition of MISTER TRENDS  I am covering floral print for men this season. The inspiration for this trend comes from D&G’s S/S 2011 collection. Many men might see a floral print and thin of a very feminine summer dress but the tables have turned and now guys and have some flower power in their closets.

For starters a floral shirt can be done right if done subtle. For instance this PS by Paul Smith shirt is absolutely beautiful but can be worn under any basic sweater or blazer as the pop.

Speaking of sweater this basic black one from Topman with a little floral detail around the neck is perfect for those in between days that Spring can offer.

If you want to go for a bolder look than the bright yellow floral pants that photographer Scott Schuman caught this man in can probably work for you.

Now your accessories can be as bold as can be. Since they are smaller you can wear any basic outfit and throw these floral Ray-Bans on for cool look that is still on trend. I think Dr. Marten shoes are extremely masculine was pleasantly surprised that they offered a whole floral collection for this season and even a few more for fall.

This is a great trend, but make sure not to over kill or you’ll look like you’ve been trapped in a bad flower garden.

1. Flowers: The Obvious Choice. Perhaps a brighter bouquet than your soppy Valentine’s Day red/pink/white would make for a pleasant surprise. Add a sweet note and have it delivered to the office desk.

2.      Message AND a Bottle: Ladies, sending your secret man crush a bottle of Maker’s Mark may just put you smack dab on his radar. Gents – a bottle of red fruity vodka might seal the deal. Add a cute, possibly humorous note revealing a bit of your identity. At worst, your crush will drink up all the awkwardness and forget it ever happened. At best, you’ll do that together.

3.      Concert Ticket and/or Dinner Reservation: Send a ticket to a show you know your crush would kill for with a note saying exactly what you’ll be wearing. Make it sexy. You might ask a few friends along as well, in case your crush never shows.

4.      Home Baked Cookies: Nothing gushy and super sweet and Valentiney. Just a sampling of your quality home cookin’ skills. Send it to the place of work with enough to go around.

5.      Mix CD: OK, you could be so two thousand and late and burn a CD, or go on 8tracks.com and create a playlist of 8 or more songs and share. Just make sure it isn’t sappy. Fill it with songs that express your feelings in an upbeat sorta way. You can also send him the download of Fashion Indie’s new mixtape which launches tomorrow.

6.      Locket of Love: This is a tricky one, and use with caution. With the right person, a locket with a note, or I daresay a poem, could instantly melt a heart. Think carefully before you attempt something this romantic.  And perhaps pick up a vintage locket: something with charm that doesn’t look cheap, but is.

1. Move your bed so that it’s opposite your window. This will let you catch whatever summer breezes come your way. This should allow you to move the rest of your furniture to fit the new location of your bed. If you’re fortunate enough to have air conditioning, this might not matter, but who doesn’t like a breeze every now and then?

The two things women love the most : Shoes and Flowers (and bags). NY based French photographer Michel Tcherevkoff had a revelation when he saw a photograph of a leaf he had shot for a client, turned upside down on his table and thought it looked just like a shoe. He scanned the image, added a heel, and that became the first Shoe Fleur.
