Jerry Tam Says Goodbye to Form
Super sad news of the day. Jerry Tam is leaving FORM and heading for nicer weather in always sunny Las Vegas. I bumped into the designer at last nights party for Yoko D’s new Urban Outfitters line at Target and he bestowed upon me the unfortunate news.
On a better note, FORM will continue to exist and will hopefully lose no steam in the interim. You will be surely missed Jerry.

New Honey Drink Is the Bee-st!

I wanted to share my new fave beverage with you guys, Honeydrop. It’s sold in many health food stores (Whole Foods) and they’ve recently sponsored a few fashion events (Form Fall 09 Presentation), which makes them that much cooler. It’s made with organic honey and comes in four flavors: Bee Good (apple), Bee Alive (blood orange), Bee Calm (chamomile) and Bee Strong (blueberry). Honey, the foundation of Honeydrop, offers many unique benefits, including its natural antioxidants, vitamins and minerals, contributing to a healthy and organic lifestyle.
After surviving cancer and studying the health benefits of an organic lifestyle, founder David Luks (aka deluxe) realized there was an opportunity in the beverage industry to create a great tasting drink that uses raw organic honey as its foundation. With a drop of deluxe honey and a drop of deluxe premium juice honeydrop was created. With only 80 calories per 16oz bottle and no added sugar, it is a healthy alternative to sodas, juices and other flavored waters that use refined sugar. Certified organic by the USDA, all of the ingredients in honeydrop are “from the land, not the lab” and it is packaged in BPA free recyclable bottles, so enjoy!

Runway Rundown: Form Spring/Summer 2009
Form has been on my top three favorite shows this Fashion Week since I saw it last week. The show as a whole was perfection. The long, draping, flowing line looked great in the breeze that was delicately flowing across the Skylounge on the West Side Friday afternoon. Most of the looks featured chain jewelry by Bliss Lau that was worn across the shoulders and chests of the models. These little details helped to hold the shape of the top of the garment, while the bottom was left to flow in the wind. The line featured at least a dozen different fabrics, each one perfect for the season it is meant for. Form hit the nail on the head this season, and I can’t wait to watch this elegant line take off.

NOOO!!! Jerry Tam is Out of Project Runway
What have you done Heidi!!! Jerry Tam, one of our favorites to win and designer behind FORM, was eliminated from Project Runway last night. I was hoping to see more of Jerry on the show, but unfortunately the judges weren’t to keen on supporting my wishes. The losing design is below, along with some picts from FORM’s current collection.

Another Fashion Indie Friend Makes It On Project Runway
Can’t believe I missed this the first time, but another Fashion Indie favorite made it onto Project Runway Season 5. Her names Leanne and her line Leanimal is an eco-friendly collection that was carried at Brooklyn’s Love Brigade Coop and was represented by former Fashion Indie contributing writer Kate Sullivan of Kick PR.
Oh god, now we’re torn. Half of us want to give big ups to Jerry Tam from FORM, the rest are rooting for eco-cutie Leanne. What ever will we do?!?
Hopefully tonight’s episode gives us a solid performance from both amazing designers.
Picts of Leanne’s past collections below…

Jerry, Jerry, Jerry Tam

So we officially have a favorite Project Runway star to root for on Wednesday. Jerry Tam of FORM has made the cut and will be featured on the fifth season of the design show. I hope and pray that Jerry wins, cause he is by far one of the nicest people in fashion.
The designer behind the meticulously designed FORM, will be pitted against a crew of designers which include Brooklynites Daniel and Kenley and New Yorkers Wesley and Stella.
We’re uber excited about Season Five, but extra excited about Season Six since the casting directors recently requested our picks for designers who should make the cut.
All an all, snaps to Jerry and hopefully you’re in.

Fashion Indie at Tulips & Pansies 2008
Fashion Indie hit up this years Tulips & Pansies event with true swagger, dressing our asses up for the show that helped raise money for HIV/AIDS charities. The event was hosted by Gossip Girl/Model Lydia Hearst, Richie Rich and Travis Rains from Heatherette.
There was a ton of excitement (and Botox) in the air and a scene of real accomplishment as the giant floral monstrosities came down the runway. Fashion Indie favorites FORM took top prize, which got us all excited. We absolutely heart Jerry Tam.

How real men wear flowers.

Rebecca and I became acquainted with a bunch of fashion heavy hitters like Dandy Patrick McDonald, James Aguilar and Richie. I got comfortable with wearing flowers. And we helped raise some capital for a great cause. We’ve got over 150 photos so check some out after the jump…

Not at all intoxicated. Promise.
