Fashion is a trip. But some fashion is trippier than others. It’s those distinct looks in a collection that make your eyes pop a little wider as they expand your consciousness to accept grander philosophies of the universe. This season was rife with designers experimenting with wild menswear, and we’re glad to see the rougher sex getting freaky with the Avant Garde.

While the men’s fall 2012 season has been a decidedly gentlemanly affair so far, some designers — namely Dolce & Gabbana and Frankie Morello — chose to bare a little male model flesh between those incredibly-tailored suits, opulent furs and dramatic capes. On the isles of the French Riviera, and all throughout Europe and the Mediterranean, the speedo is King. It’s where both the sexily ripped and the hairily rotund alike sport the banana hammock as common practice. Here in The States, our boys prefer the board short. But, sexily ripped gentlemen, we urge you to see the benefits of wearing smaller swimming trunks. So that we can see your muscly trunks. And for plenty of other reasons that benefit you more than us. With nary an actual Speedo on this list, see why 10 designers agree that a shorter, tighter bikini bottom is highly masculine.

We continue waving the multi-colored flag of capitalist indulgence in our second Gay Pride Gift Guide, this time focusing our kaleidoscopic lens on that most-hackneyed of queer stereotypes, the Gay Jock — of course the only balls he knows his way around won’t be found on any court or field, but I digress.

Nothing moves product like a nude, nearly nude or at least shirtless male model. Sure, I understand the need when underwear/swimwear is involved, but sometimes the nudity is completely gratuitous. And it’s times like that when I love my job.
