Fred Perrywill leave the decision of what to do with Amy’s future collections up to her family but said, in a statement released yesterday:

“We had a great working and personal relationship with Amy during the design and development of the collaboration. Amy’s unique sense of style and attitude pervaded the entire collection. She was a pleasure to work with and will be deeply missed by the entire Fred Perry team.”

The Winehouse/Perry collaboration, heavily-influenced by Amy’s now iconic style — old (Jewish) black man — launched last October and featured herringbone miniskirts, gingham skinny pants, fitted polos and deck-style loafers. [Telegraph]

When asked about his experience working with Winehouse, a marketing manager at Fred Perry claimed that she was a “delight” and was both “passionate” and “dedicated.”

Clearly coming as a surprise, this prompted the reporter to ask, “Could Amy Winehouse have turned over a new leaf?”

Bitch, please.

45 minutes later, the habitual rehabber (yes, yes, yes), is wobbling around in heels, slurring her words and doing “a chorus-girl routine for the camera.”

Meanwhile, that describes me on a typical afternoon. But besides that, is anyone really shocked that Amy Winehouse is still a hot tranny mess?

Her name has become synonymous with “hot tranny mess.”

Look up “Amy Winehouse” in the dictionary, you see this picture, then “See: Hot Tranny Mess.”

She”s a user and an abuser, but she’s also extremely talented. It’s no surprise that she actually could have been good at designing this line for Fred Perry. Her sense of style, which she describes as an “old (Jewish) black man,” is smart and chic, and for the current times, refreshing.

What’s most surprising is that Bryan “(Everything I Do) I Do It for You” Adams is not only still alive, but also an alleged photographer. Who knew?

Fred Perry has lost his mind, in asking Amy Winehouse to produce a line of actual wearable clothing for the brand.

It will hit stores in October, and is contracted to go for four seasons. “In a palette of mostly black and pink, the 17-piece collection includes a girlish twinset; slim, thigh-skimming pencil skirts; capri pants, a mini bowling dress, and Fred Perry’s signature polo shirts.”

Fred Perry has been a collaboration machine lately, and this time the lucky partner in crime is Stussy. The “Black Canvas” collection does feature some great pieces, but in all honesty I think this tee is my favorite piece. With Ash Stymest’s tattooed figure wearing the clothes it does help to make them seem a bit edgier. I was fortunate enough to head over to the BPMW offices the other week to see the entire collection, and it is definitely worth being excited about.

Cry Wolf- Located in St. Marks (111), this boutique features goods for men and women from awesome designers such as: 80%20, Chronicles of Never, Creative Recreation, S2Vs, Jeffrey Campbell, Gram, and Nudie.  Find the best shoes, accessories, and clothing from your favorite indie designers worldwide, without having to scour through tons of internet sites.

Inven.tory- Located at Lafayette and Spring, get GREAT deals (outlet pricing) on emerging designers, and catch up on the latest trends! Inven.tory’s inventory changes weekly, so stop in frequently to make sure you get the best stuff! They don’t have a site quite yet, but you can check out their blog for all the latest news about the store, and what you should be wearing.

Gargyle- Located on Orchard near Canal (16A), this store is aiming to revitalize the country club lifestyle, and features designers like Vena Cava, Fred Perry, Karen Walker, and Surface to Air (among others).  They claim to love ‘golf, tennis, concerts, and parties,’ so if you fit into any or all of the above, or just enjoy ‘anything that lets us have fun with our family and friends,’ check out Gargyle.  Shop online if you must, but to get the full country club party experience, you have to stop in!

In God We Trust- They’ve got three stores in town, 265 Lafayette, Ludlow btwn. Stanton and Rivington, and 135 Wythe in Brooklyn.  Stop in for the sickest jewelry, antique and new, as well as fun, adventurous clothing that brings out the vintage nature in everyone.  Check out their site for previews, and stop in to get the real treasures.

Tokyo 7- Located on 7th St. btwn. 2nd and 3rd Ave, this consignment store offers limitless designer goods, everything from Prada, Gucci, D&G, Miu Miu, Chanel, Alexander McQueen, Heatherette, and 5Preview.  Save on anything you could possibly want, and enjoy the ever-changing stock. No site available, sorry to all of you non-NYC natives.

Love Brigade- Located at 230 Grand Street, you’ve probably heard us talk about Love Brigade, but we want you to love them as much as we do.  They sell their original line Love Brigade, a diffusion line (ex.oh), as well as an experimental line (As We Are), as well as selected pieces from other great indie designers.  Stop in and say hi to our friends, and get some awesome clothes while you’re at it!

Assembly- Located on Ludlow btwn. Stanton and Houston, this store is just for the boys (with the occasional women’s accessory filtering through).  Get new and vintage clothing and accessories from the greatest collector in town, with tons of foreign labels and indie stuff, too.  There’s even a vinyl section in the back, so you can get your music and fashion all in once place!

Valley- Located on Elizabeth btwn. Prince and Spring, the ultimate experience in one-stop shopping.  Enjoy looking through clothing from avant-guard designers, and favorites like Grey Ant, Lady Leisure, and Caroline K, and also enjoy the skin, nail, and waxing salon, and a cafe.  This store really has it all, check it out as soon as you can!

Kiosk- Located on Spring St. btwn. Broadway and Mercer, this isn’t exactly a clothing or accessories store, but they sell a bunch of random trinkets and other goodies that would be great for a DIY project.  If you’re in one of those moods to look for something, but you aren’t exactly sure what, head over to Kiosk.  Plus, they’re right next to that window that sells the mini cupcakes, which is awesome.

First Among Equals- Located at 177 Orchard, this store sells 0044, Bess, Dunlin, Michel Berandi, and more (just for guys).  First Among Equals has recently opened a dark downstairs that you enter through a narrow spiral staircase, and enjoy a private shopping feel with handpicked clothes from designers, offering a rare flair that you won’t find anywhere else. Check out their site for up-to-date sales, but don’t miss out on this unique shopping experience.

Fred Perry has a great collection ready for Spring 2010, that I was lucky enough to view at the Capsule event last Tuesday. The collection features a lot of sheers, as well as this heavy sweater material tank top. Here are some of my favorite pieces from the collection. Just in time for the Fall/Winter 2009 season, avant garde designer, Raf Simons, is partnering with British minimalist, Fred Perry to take a spin on polos and knitwear. Until then, enjoy these grainy photos of a greasy haired model in a turtleneck sweater.

Fred Perry has released another installment of their huge collaboration with Raf Simons, that apparently is to be continuing for a few more seasons. This collection is bright, stylish and perfect for the Spring season. I am a huge fan of the loafers, and I am certainly going to get a pair for Spring.

Fred Perry has just Facebook poked Raf Simmons into working on another collection of polos, pantaloons and mucho mas for the designer. This time Raf’s color inspiration came from West Africa.

The UK boutique Size? recently launched a collaboration with the infamous Fred Perry available only at the Size? store. Now I have always been a fan of Fred Perry footwear, and these are no exception. I personally like the black and white ones (I’m over red and black). Snatch up these Fred Perry projects quick though, they won’t be around for too long.

As if Belgian designer Raf Simons doesn’t have enough to do overseeing his own eponymous label and as creative director of Jil Sander, which just opened a concept store on Howard St, he’s also launching a 12-piece collection of polo shirts and knitwear in collaboration with Fred Perry.

Inspired by Fred Perry’s 1960s skiwear, the all-black, slim-fitting line includes a chic short-sleeve mohair turtleneck sweater, a patterned, knit polo shirt, a full button-down long-sleeve pique polo and sleek trousers. No doubt the pieces, branded with vintage Fred Perry laurels, will be must-haves for Fall. The collaboration will last for two seasons, so stay tuned for Spring.

Jil Sander better get ready to share Raf Simons. Fred Perry has just signed on the avant-garde designers for a 13 piece fall capsule collection. The label has already showed their Raf love by carrying his Comme des Garcons line, but this little collabo might be good for the Perry brand as they continue to push to a more fashionable audience. Anything to get the Lacoste comparisons out of the way, eh Perry.

The debut fall collection includes a heavy piqué polo ($195 retail); a textured acrylic/cotton polo ($485); a short-sleeved wool/nylon turtleneck sweater ($370); a mohair turtleneck sweater ($550); a wool/acrylic/alpaca chunky knit sweater ($845); and a wool flannel trouser ($400).
