Gucci Gucci Coos a Jazz Tune

Edited by

Drop the waist low, fringe it forward, jazz it art deco and you’ve got Gucci Spring 2012. Frida Giannini turned out 20s in Milan, and she was not the only designer to do so this fashion week – think Marchesa, Temperley London, Carolina Herrera and others. However, in a remarkable coincidence (?) in which Giannini insists she was merely musing over NY skyscrapers of that time period, it also happens to be Gucci’s 90th birthday (bust out those calculators, ladies). Be that as it may, there’s an undeniable air of flapper in the air. See Gucci’s best roaring looks from yesterday’s show.

Edited by

The iconic Italian house is celebrating its 90th birthday this year and just entered into a three year partnership with The Recording Academy and the GRAMMY Museum. Last night, in the treehouse-like loft of Cipriani Downtown, Gucci presented its latest jewelry and timepiece collections, including the exclusive pieces designed especially for the GRAMMYs. While the best Bellinis in town were passed around the room, I got a chance to learn about all of the chic accessory collections on display and the stories behind them.
