Over the next few weeks, we are going to look at eight incredible manicurists and their over-the-top art in a new feature called Nailed It. Today’s featured manicurist is Jenna Hipp, a green celebrity nail stylist who works with all the big names in Hollywood from Michelle Williams to Kate Bosworth. Her understated, sophisticated nail art never contains harsh or harmful ingredients and has been featured on more magazine covers than we can count. Last night was the holy grail of red carpet fashion. The 2011 Met Ball honoring late and legendary designer Alexander McQueen brought out the best in, well, almost everyone. In this edition of Red Carpet Report Card, we’ll take a peek at the star-studded event and decide who was working, who was sleeping and who should have been turned away upon arrival.

Ginnifer Goodwin first wore this floral Dior dress at an event in LA. Then last month, Tinsley Mortimer wore the same dress in NYC. Who do you think wore it best? I think Tinsley’s accessories are too neon for the dress. I think if she went for a different shade of pink, it would’ve looked much better. I love Ginnifer’s shoes with the dress and her look overall better.

The June 2009 feature editorial in W Magazine is a bold choice – not just for cover girl Ginnifer Goodwin, who just seems so clean and normal to me (I mean, she was in a campaign for The Gap!), but also for the magazine itself. (Previous cover stars this year include Madonna and Brad Pitt).
Nevertheless, it’s a good move, even if just for the principle of being different. On the belly-baring cover, Goodwin wears a Versace jacket and Balenciaga breifs.
Steven Klein shot the Big Love star for the accompanying “Not So Goodwin” spread, perhaps to try to break down some walls. Male models, including Marlon Teixeira, also feature in the sexy editorial, whose styling still seems a little Amy Winehouse-inspired (big hair, tiny clothes, dirty faces).

One of the perks of being a celeb is that you get to wear clothing that is not yet available to the public, which really pisses me off. I have been looking forward to the MW for H&M collection since it’s announce back in Nov (mostly cuz McQueen for Target was so dissapointing) and it’s just not fair for a celeb to get thier hands on pieces that I can’t buy until April 23…

Dolce & Gabbana had a little get together to celebrate the opening of their new flagship store in Los Angeles last night. The event was packed with stars, so of course we had to congratulate a few, and bash the others. The well dressed celebs this time, Nicole Richie, Paris Hilton (miracle I know) and Rachel Bilson. Rachel Bilson was a no brainer, the blue sequined D&G blazer looked great, and I was impressed that she even knew to get one that was a bit longer too! This was a shocker for me as well, but Paris Hilton looked good last night (with the exception of her wonky eye and stupid facial expression). I liked the prins and cut of the dress, and she even spiced (or slutted) it up with some fish-nets. Nicole Richie looked cute as usual, now if she could only get rid of her d-bag boyfriend/husband or whatever. She rocked the high waisted look very well, and I am intrigued by her little eyeball bag.

This weeks bads, Rumor Willis, her chin and Lauren Conrad. Lauren Conrad is just boring. She is completely monotoned, with no changes in fabric textures. On top of all of this she’s rocking the bow still? I thought we all agreed that we were more or less done with the bow, especially a very boring one. Rumor Willis wore a dress that I don’t think looks too bad, but then her face had to go and ruin it for everyone. I don’t necessarily think the hair color goes well with the dress pattern and her skin tone. She’s getting better though, 2009 is right around the corner.

This weeks uglies definitely aren’t the worst we have ever seen, but they are by no means good either. Nicky Hilton decided to show up in her night gown. The dress she wore lacked a chest, a silhouette and color. I guess this is what happens when you are living a life in the shadow of your whoring sister, get out there and suck some dick Nicky, then you can get yourself the good stuff! Ginnifer Goodwin still has me confused as to whether that is jewelry or a detail on her dress, either way if we could figure out a way to make that go away that would be awesome. And last but not least, Zoe Saldana showed up in the worlds smallest quilt that her grandmother made her.
