Janis Joplin and I could have been purse buddies. Oprah makes people do the strangest things. Lindsay Kleptohan? And Eau No de Gaga.

Amber Heard is a big ole lady-lover. The stunning actress is best known for her roles in Pineapple Express and Zombieland and was ranked #13 on Maxim‘s 2010 Hot 100 list.

GLAAD is in a bit of a tizzy over this Life & Style cover which asks if it’s harmful to call a girl John and dress her up Clay Aiken with a Tavi haircut. I see no harm, but if the roles were different and they were dressing up Pax in Bryan Boy dresses, I think we might have a problem.
SIDENOTE: I’m saddened that my only pop cultural references are a runner up from American Idol a wannabe celebrity blogger, and a 13 year old. I need to really start watching more TV… or start picking up Life & Style.

Christian Siriano has apologized to the gays for comparing ‘drag queens and trannies’ in the gay world to ‘white trash and trailer parks’ in the straight world. In the new Time Out Magazine, Siriano was featured on a GLBT panel about Gay Pride in 2008. Siriano said: “If you think of heterosexuals, they have white-trash women and trailer parks, and we have drag queens and trannies.”
Evidently this comparison did not sit well with his ‘tranny mess’ fans. Today Siriano released a statement to the Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation (GLAAD): “I mean no disrespect to the transgender population and I never will. Some of my close friends happen to be transgender and I think they are some of the most inspiring people in my life…I completely support the fabulousness and amazing fashion inspiration that most transgender people provide.” He added that “I wish that my words were not taken in that way. When I was speaking, some comments that I made were not used in the article.”
I guess GLADD doesn’t have a problem with Siriano popularizing the term “hot-tranny-mess” to straight folks from Middle America, but comparing the gay community to white trash…..that’s just too far…
