After my post about ‘Good Wood,’ I tried getting in touch with their designer, and was able to exchange a few emails with Kerri O’Connell about what ‘Good Wood’ is all about.

FASHIONINDIE: How did you come up with the idea for ‘Good Wood’?
KERRI O’CONNELL: Good Wood started as a conversation about wooden jewelry and multi-finger rings. I like the look of wood and I love big rings so I decided to mesh the two together and see what happens.
FI: What’s the strangest custom piece you’ve ever made?
KOC:The strangest custom would be a 4 finger ring with a toilet seat carved into it with the word ‘SEX’ right next to the toilet..Bathroom sex.
FI: Where do you plan to take your company? Do you hope to eventually sell in stores, or open your own?
KOC: Right now you can get GoodWood at stores in NYC, Florida, NJ, San Fransico and Japan. We are expanding a lot this year so a possible Good Wood store may happen in the near future.

I spotted a guy at 205 Club last night wearing a pair of wooden glasses, and after asking him about it he handed me a flyer for ‘Good Wood NYC.’ If you haven’t heard of these guys, head over to their site, their stuff is amazing. They have an online store full of multiple-fingered rings, all hand carved, painted and burned. They also do custom designs, so if you send them a picture of anything, they’ll create a one-of-a-kind piece of jewelry for you. They’re based out of Brooklyn, but don’t have a store just yet, but you can order custom designs through email, and pick up their originals through the online store (rings run around $20, pendants are $15).
