And the French get the final say. Paris Fashion Week has drawn to a close and we’ve sifted the runways for the trends that will affect your wardrobe come September, or sooner. Designers have squared offwhited out, and swept their competition. Karl Lagerfeld and Marc Jacobs were on some similar wavelengths for the new silhouette of Chanel and Louis Vuitton. Ann Demeulemeester and Gareth Pugh finally got coordinating dragon tattoos. Meanwhile, the leg bomber strikes again and we’re still highlighting the hot outline. I don’t know what it is, but there’s something about Paris Fashion Week that brings out the crazy in everyone. Lest you forget it was around this time last year that John Galliano went swimming in a pool of anti-Semitic haterade, thus plunging the fashion world into a year-long speculative mission regarding his successorChristophe Decarnin had his breakdown and falling out with Balmain and  Kanye West dropped the biggest bomb of his career – and I’m not talking about 808s & Heartbreak. Not to mention a few months ago during the spring 2012 season that whole fashion calendar war was ignited. This PFW promises to be, if not equally scandalous, at least worth the clutching of your collective Chanel pearls. Here are the top scandals burning down the City of Lights.

I don’t know about you, but personally, I’m tired of hearing about who may possibly be taking over Christian Dior after everyone from Carine Roitfeld to Riccardo Tisci to recently ousted Jil Sander frontman Raf Simons has been rumored for the position. Hell, even I was considered at some point. But nevertheless, here’s a familiar name to throw back into the ring: Haider Ackermann.

Peekaboo Paris: See Through Runway

New York already cut it out, but now Paris is playing this game too. The game is Peek-a-Boo and the goal is to show enough without showing everything. These are little slits that come in slight shapes, some veiled, some open straight to skin. These open slivers are the sexiest pseudo-exhibitionist cuts to come off of the Paris runway.

While she is no longer the editrice of Vogue Paris, Carine Roitfeld is still turning it out, now on her own terms. In her latest project, she styled the Barneys lookbook, gathering a collection of werqing women that move her, and dressed them in that way that made French Vogue so epic. Here, we’ve taken five of our favorite looks and (though we’d love to go to Barneys for them, a. these pieces are not available online, and b. pshh we wish) found their essences for less.
