Summer is coming and that only means one thing, my hair is going to go crazy! Actually my hair pretty much always has a mind of its own. In the colder months, my hair is flat and crinkly looking, (not a good combo), and in the more humid months, it’s super poof, but not always defined. I know the appearance of my sleek flat-ironed tresses may be deceiving, but I actually have super curly hair. A couple of weeks ago we told you all to mix your hair products before applying, not only will it give you some extra benefits, it gets rid of the massive amounts of product that can cause some grease in your hair.

Though people still say to mix the products, I do have to warn you that there are some precautionary things to take note of. For one, never, I repeat, never, mix relaxers, perms, permanent hair colors, semi-permanent hair colors, or bleach. Never! And another side note, you can mix shampoo and conditioner, but your better off not doing it. When the two form a mixture a salt forms that prevents the conditioner from working.

Tip: Mix everything and observe for a couple of minutes before you apply. If the mixture looks weird then I wouldn’t try it.

Sometimes to get the hairdo that’s right on the money you need a ton of products to get there. We’re talking gel, mousse, anti-friz cream, and iron guards. It may be just a bit too much product for our locks to handle, and before you know it, your freshly cleaned hair is already looking greasy and overdone. So what do you do?

To my surprise I’ve never heard this tip before, which is odd because it seems awfully simple, and well, pretty obvious. Instead of applying a layer of each of your products, pre-mix all 0f your products and then apply!
