In the fashion industry’s grand game of musical chairs, the latest designer to officially take a new seat is Clare Waight Keller. She landed Hannah MacGibbon’s old seat at Chloé as the new Creative Director. Keller is moving from Pringle of Scotland, the company she nursed from a small Scottish knitwear company to an international luxury brand. And that’s exactly why Chloé wants her;  her knack for innovative knits.

Chloé Colorful Cape Must-Have

The most playful piece on the Chloé runway yesterday is a building block of colors transformed into a blanket cape. Wrap it, twist it, throw it, sleep it, it will bend to your will. Through a sea of snakeskin, the fleecy quality of the rich hues makes a giddy statement. Hannah MacGibbon has mastered the cape; it seems to be a Chloé signature. This one might just be their best yet.

Branching nicely from her Fall 2009 collection, Hannah MacGibbon brought us some more relaxed, masculine, natural pieces for the Spring season. With a copious array of beige, khaki and cream colored dresses, trousers, suit coats and capes, the Spring 2010 collection aired on the side of casual, English countryside, with a bit of boyish comfort. MacGibbon traded in stilettos for some strappy, leather sandals, which trouser pants were tucked into. Disheveled, baggy and natural, I couldn’t ask for more!
