Emma Watson explores her dark side for Harper’s Bazaar UK as the August cover girl. The Harry Potter star looks positively witchy in an Emilio Pucci dress from his Fall/Winter 2011.12 collection. The cover and spread played with dark and light pallets, and was photographed by Alexi Lubomirski. In her interview she talked about her plans to study abroad this year, and discussed her views on fashion. “It can be savage,” she says, “and cruel, in that it’s prescriptive — you have to look a certain way and fit a certain mould — but also in the way it’s made.” She certainly looks savage in this new spread. Hermione is a sprightly little know-it-all in Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone. Director Christopher Columbus ran the first few scenes of the movie with Hermione in fake buck teeth. Upon learning that the little starlet couldn’t speak with them in, they decided her teeth were bucked quite enough for the role.

Sophia Coppola, Kanye West and Donatella Versace – who, it seems, invited herself – were among those lucky and not-Anna-Wintour enough to reside front row during Alaïa’s show. Whatever caused the riff between Azzedine and Anna — there was a snub at the Met Gala a few years back causing longtime muse Naomi Campbell and her super friends to boycott, but methinks it goes back even further than that — readers of Vogue are the ones truly suffering. They’ll never see these gorgeous creations within those hallowed pages as long as one of them lives. And I think we all know, as per an agreement signed in blood eons ago, Anna’s not going anywhere for the next few hundred years.

But feel free to peruse some of the best looks from Alaïa Fall 2011 couture and take comfort in imagining what magic Grace Coddington could conjure up if she were given the chance.

The average muggle can enjoy the website come October, but if you’re a super fan (presumably with time to kill) you may get to go in early, VIP if you will. Jo will put you to work to help shape the site and the experience for the rest of us.

So, we wait with bated breath for the coming of Pottermore, where we’ll get to know everything. We’ll even get to buy new digital versions of the books that allow us to explore the world three dimensionally.

Thank Ron there is more Harry Potter coming from Jo, because if The Deathly Hallows Part 2 were really the last of it, I’d be stupefied. Seven books and eight movies is clearly not enough.

On her professional relationship with Harry Potter co-star Daniel Radcliffe: “He understood what his role was, not just as an actor but as the leading man in this enormous franchise,” Watson said. “And I think that was almost more important in a way. He held it all together. I am very grateful for him.”

On getting an education during filming: “I have felt for the last ten years I have had this battle; I’ve been fighting so hard to have an education, she said. “It’s been this uphill struggle. I was Warner Bros.’ pain in the butt. I was their scheduling conflict. I was the one who made life difficult.”

About taking on new roles in film: “Hermione is so close to who I am as a person that I’ve never really had to research a role,” she says. “I’m literally rediscovering what it means to be an actress.”

With all of the excitement surrounding the Harry Potter theme park in Florida, UK fans are starting to get a bit envious. To ease their jealousy they may just be getting something even better. The set where all eight of the Harry Potter movies were filmed will now be expanded and opened for tours. $161 million sounds like a pretty nice expansion to me, we’ll just have to wait until 2012 to check it out.

And by terribly familiar, I mean it’s a knock-off of Chinatown proportions. The only noticeable differences are the length and the last minute substitution of phoenices (at least I think that’s the plural of phoenix) over peacocks.

According to costume designer, Jenny Temime, she chose the phoenix “because, like love, it is eternal.” Or, it was just easier to copy than one of those hippogriffs.

I will say this for the dress, however: Daniel Radcliffe looks really good as a bride. So glad he and that redhead finally got it together.

Emma Watson has been huge in the fashion world within the past six months, but even the fashion savvy slip up every now and again. Emma graced the world with quick pantie shot, and on any other day I would be thrilled to see this, but her lingerie was less than stellar. If you’re going to accidentally flash the camera atleast make it something worth seeing!

I’m really not big on the actor/model thing, but I think for this spread it’s working for Emma Watson.  She’s all dolled up in designer (some very crazy) stuff, and whoever came up with the idea to paint her eyebrows, good job.  I think it makes her look almost like an ice princess or something of the sort, and definitely makes her less recognizable as the girl from Harry Potter.
